Enterprises "overcome difficulties" and strive to develop
Looking back at the 2021-2024 period, the world economic and political situation has undergone many complex fluctuations, along with the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change that have seriously affected the growth of many countries, including Vietnam. However, with the efforts of the entire Party and people, Vietnam's economy is still growing positively.
Recalling the days when the epidemic broke out strongly, all companies together implemented "3 on-site" (production, quarantine, accommodation on-site), Mr. Dao Hong Quan - Production Director of Thanh Hien Company Limited (Ha Nam) could not hold back his emotions. At that time, the company had to face many challenges when production activities were slow, exports were difficult, especially the human resource issue became more stressful than ever.
“During the social distancing period, the company took advantage of available local human resources to maintain production activities. Although the epidemic was difficult and the business had to bear many additional costs, the company was determined not to cut staff and ensure full benefits as before. During this period, support from the Government and local authorities was a great source of motivation for businesses. Localities have actively implemented vaccination activities for workers and created conditions and supported businesses facing difficulties,” Mr. Quan shared.
According to Mr. Quan, thanks to promoting the internal strength and perseverance of the enterprise itself, and the support from timely decisions of the Government, the company has overcome the most difficult period. Experiencing the "big wave", plus market fluctuations, Thanh Hien Ha Nam Company Limited quickly seized the opportunity. From a business specializing in the production of civil aluminum, the company has shifted to the production of industrial aluminum products such as solar panels and heating systems... This step not only helps the enterprise solve difficulties but also brings in revenue, doubling compared to the time of the epidemic.
“Together we will rise in the new era of the country, in the coming time the company will build a new factory and plan to upgrade machinery, apply modern technology to increase productivity, and meet large export orders” - Mr. Quan shared.
Thanks to the timely support policies of the Government on tax exemptions and reductions, loan interest rates and the perseverance of each employee, the bakery business of Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Son - Nhat Huong Group - has overcome the most difficult period. Up to now, the business's revenue has increased and is promoting export activities.
“The baking ingredients industry is still the strength of some foreign companies, but domestic enterprises have grown stronger and stronger. In particular, Nhat Huong has made many product improvements, promoting the export market with the expectation of bringing Vietnamese brands to the international level,” Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Son shared.
Accompanying businesses in difficult times, the Government has implemented many support programs, with many breakthrough solutions in thinking and institutions. Thanks to that, the economy has gradually recovered, macro stability has been maintained, and the economic picture has appeared with more bright colors.
Positive economic growth, Vietnamese brands reach international level
With the spirit of creation, the Government and the Prime Minister have always accompanied businesses, strongly implemented institutional reforms, improved the investment and business environment, and created favorable conditions for businesses to develop. The current business situation is much more optimistic, showing that confidence has been consolidated and enhanced.
The proof is that in the period of 2021-2024, Vietnam's economy has achieved many results in many different fields. Especially the victory of Vietnamese enterprises when the names VinFast, FPT, Viettel... reached the world, contributing to bringing Vietnamese brands to the international market.
First of all, we must mention the event that VinFast officially became a publicly listed company with global stature, the Vietnamese brand with the largest capitalization listed on the US stock exchange, with more than 23 billion USD. VinFast also started construction of an electric car factory in the US. This not only brings VinFast's brand to the world, but also brings the name of Vietnamese enterprises to international friends.
Vietnam has also officially affirmed its position on the world information technology (IT) map. FPT announced the milestone of 1 billion USD in IT service revenue from foreign markets. This result makes FPT the first technology enterprise in Vietnam to achieve a billion USD in revenue from software exports. Not only participating in the industrial and IT fields, many Vietnamese brands and goods have been reaching out and affirming their position in the international market.
Continuing the development momentum, the domestic economy in 2024 achieved positive results. By the end of November, the total import-export turnover was estimated at about 715 billion USD, up 15.3%, with a trade surplus of over 23 billion USD; the whole year is estimated to reach 807.7 billion USD, the highest ever. FDI attraction is a bright spot and is among the 15 developing countries attracting the largest FDI in the world.
Bringing the country firmly into a new era
At the National Conference to disseminate and summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee; report on the socio-economic situation in the first 11 months of 2024, solutions to accelerate socio-economic development in 2025 and remove institutional bottlenecks and bottlenecks, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that since the 10th Central Conference on September 20, 2024, the entire political system has made strong movements, operating with a new spirit and speed to create new driving forces and new efficiency for socio-economic development and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
During the above period, the Politburo and the Secretariat worked very urgently, holding more than 10 meetings to give opinions on nearly 100 major issues within their authority, including fundamentally removing backlogs and obstacles and resolving many newly arising issues. The National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinated very vigorously and smoothly to remove bottlenecks, bottlenecks, and barriers that cause difficulties for socio-economic development, for people's lives and activities...
The above actions have initially created new vitality for the task of protecting, building and developing the country. In the immediate future, we will strive to complete the targets and plans for 2024 and 2025, creating leverage to break through and complete all the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
Also at the conference, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that in 2025, we must both "accelerate and break through", focus on striving to successfully achieve the socio-economic development goals of the entire 2021-2025 term; and at the same time, we must reorganize the apparatus; successfully organize party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Regarding the general goal, the Prime Minister said that 2025 is determined to be the year of acceleration, breakthrough, overcoming difficulties and challenges; taking stability as a premise to promote development and development as a basis for stability; striving to achieve the highest results in the goals and targets of the 5-year plan 2021-2025.
Continue to prioritize promoting growth on the basis of maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, ensuring large balances and high surpluses. Promote the implementation of strategic breakthroughs, restructuring the economy in association with growth model innovation, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, resilience and competitiveness of the economy.
Prioritize growth, strive for GDP growth of about 8% to create momentum, force, and spirit to implement the 2026 plan and the entire 2021-2030 period, complete at least 3,000km of expressway, basically complete Long Thanh airport, large projects, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide... On that basis, create a premise and solid foundation for the country to enter a new era, an era of rising up, to become a rich and prosperous nation.
