Gold price today 10/6: "Swerving" at the bottom, FED "hiding" to increase interest rates, stocks hit a peak

    Gold prices today, October 6, continue to decline. Investors are speculating that the FED will raise interest rates again at the end of this year. The USD continues to remain stable after a series of record-high stock days.

    Opening this morning's trading session (October 6), DOJI Group listed the price of SJC gold at 36.40-36.48 million VND/tael, an increase of 10,000 VND in both directions compared to yesterday's trading session.

    Gold price today at Bao Tin Minh Chau is listed at 36.40-36.46 million VND/tael, down 10 thousand VND in both directions compared to the same time yesterday. Gold price of smooth round Quotation Dragon Gold Thang Long is trading at: 35.07-35.52 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out).

    At Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), the price of SJC gold bars was listed in Hanoi at 36.38-36.46 million VND/tael (buy in - sell out), down 20 thousand VND in both directions compared to the same time in yesterday's trading session.

    The world gold price (spot gold) is currently listed at 1269 - 1270 USD/ounce (buy - sell).

    9999 gold price for December delivery on the New York Comex decreased by 2.1 USD to 1274.6 USD/ounce.

    The US stock market continued to increase and continuously broke new records. The USD increased slightly in the afternoon trading session. The strong increase of the USD pushed gold prices down.

    Gold prices are also affected by speculation that the Fed will continue to tighten monetary policy, after comments from the Chairman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) branch Philadelphia, Patrick Harker, about supporting another interest rate hike this year and beyond.

    The first resistance level was recorded at 1281.60 USD and then 1285 USD. The first support level recorded for the day was 1271 USD and then 1265 USD.

    On the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank on the morning of October 6 was VND22,470/USD, up 2 VND compared to the previous session. Vietcombank's USD exchange rate today is listed at 22,695 - 22,765 VND/USD (buy - sell), unchanged in both directions compared to the previous trading session.
