Tiktok helps many people know about the club
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, a worker at the iron paint factory of Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Soc Son, Hanoi), has worked for 19 years. Before becoming a worker, Huong took exams at a number of art schools. Now, Ms. Huong takes advantage of her talent and passion to teach dance, dance, and acupressure to children in Soc Son district.
After working at the company, in the afternoon, she opens classes from 5pm to 6:30pm every day. The class is only off on the day Ms. Huong has a performance schedule for the Hanoi Industrial - Export Processing Zones Trade Union Art Team. Realizing the need to learn this art form of children, especially children of large laborers, Ms. Huong founded the Red Sun Club.

Since becoming known on the social network TikTok, Ms. Huong has posted clips recording some practice sessions for the children, some of her own performances. At first, it was just to store for myself, so that when needed, I could open it to see. While practicing art with the Workers' Art Team, Ms. Huong sometimes livestreamed on her TikTok account...
To date, Ms. Huong's TikTok page has 2,131 followers and 18,900 likes. Gradually, Ms. Huong realized that this was a promotional channel for the club as well as her classes. In other words, the TikTok channel has supported her partly because many parents after watching clips on her TikTok account came to ask for their children to study.
However, as mentioned above, TikTok is just a supporting factor, and is also the strength of Ms. Huong. Ms. Huong works as a worker to earn an income but does not give up her passion, so she took advantage of her weekend off to learn more dance and dance; then she studied directing and choreography.
She currently has 4 classes teaching children with about 60 children. Preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Ms. Thanh Huong prepared for the children a work written by her.
Taking advantage of TikTok while coming home from work
Also a worker, also talented in art, but Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh uses TikTok to watch the content he likes when he comes home from work. What Mr. Dinh likes most about TikTok is clear sound and images, and when he wants to see any content, just go to the search once, then TikTok will suggest many similar clips. Therefore, Mr. Dinh often finds new songs to learn by performing. For Mr. Dinh TikTok, that was all, he rarely posted clips, except for a few clips recording songs he sang himself.
But the story about TikTok with Mr. Dinh is very interesting, he told me about a friend who used to work as a worker with him. This friend has the talent to be able to write scripts, lyrics, direct, and role-playing by himself. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, this friend often wrote short plays, talking about what happened right at the boarding house, about farmers, then groups of friends learned diaries together, practiced together on weekends, and performed at the company.

During the isolation period, not allowed to gather in large groups, this friend wrote the script himself, played many roles himself, filmed the clip and posted it on TikTok. Unexpectedly, the number of viewers increased, reaching hundreds of thousands of followers, tens of millions of viewers, hundreds of thousands of likes. Many brands have contacted this friend to post advertisements.
Having a better income from work at the Company, this friend quit his job to focus on being a TikTok channel. Mr. Dinh talked about this unnamed friend with admiration. Because, "this friend who was also a worker knows how to take advantage of social networks and his own talent to make money legitimately" - Mr. Dinh said.
According to a union official of a grassroots union in Thang Long Industrial Park, most workers now know how to use TikTok. Many people also use TikTok to sell some additional items in the evening or after work. For these workers, social networks have helped them earn more income to cover their living expenses. There are also many workers who go to TikTok to watch and learn more English in free learning clips...
