Building the core
In the Industrial and Export Processing Zones of Hanoi, the art troupe of workers of Yamaha Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd. is desired by many enterprises. From the initial 4 members, the art troupe has now grown to 50 members.
In addition to activities serving the Company's Trade Union, the art troupe is the core force serving the art programs of conferences, movement activities, company anniversaries, art programs organized by the Trade Union of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones, representing workers of Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones to participate in competitions and art performances organized by the Hanoi City Labor Federation.
The special thing is that the core of the art team is a female union member, Ms. Le Thi Huyen - a talented artist, who is able to gather union members and workers who can sing and dance to create a special art team - an art team of workers. Members of the art team often practice before work or on days off...
In order to have more and more art troupes whose main members are union members and workers at the grassroots level, especially at enterprises, the Capital Trade Union at all levels creates all conditions to build a core force. For example, the Long Bien District Labor Federation and the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace organized 3 training courses for grassroots cultural core for union members of the district, including dance, vocal music, and self-defense martial arts.
The classes are organized on the basis of the District Labor Federation understanding the learning, enjoyment and cultural creation needs of workers, civil servants and laborers at agencies, units, enterprises and schools.
The subjects participating in the class are union members, workers and civil servants - typical cultural cores at the base, and cadres involved in the movement. Students trained through the cultural core classes will be cultural, artistic, and sports cores... becoming the core force to promote the cultural and artistic movement at the base in particular and the movement of workers and civil servants in Long Bien district in general.
After more than 2 months of studying, the students were taught, guided and equipped with basic skills of 3 subjects by qualified and experienced teachers from the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace. Thereby, developing the students' talents, artistic thinking ability, self-defense skills, and movement development organization skills.
Another form of training for grassroots cultural cores is to organize classes right at the enterprise. That is, the Hanoi Transport Trade Union in collaboration with the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace organized the 2023 Grassroots Cultural Core Training Course at Hanoi Metro Company Limited to improve the spiritual life of workers. After the course, trainees were granted certificates of participation in the Grassroots Cultural Core Training Course.
This is also the core to enrich the spiritual life of union members and workers at the facility. Activities such as the Basic Cultural Core Training Class with dance and vocal music received the consensus and support of the company's board of directors. The activities are organized to strengthen the relationship, solidarity, and mutual understanding between cadres, workers, union members and the Trade Union. In particular, this is also the basis to contribute to improving the understanding, awareness, creativity and cultural enjoyment of cadres and workers in the unit.
Maintain and promote the movement to build grassroots cultural life
In the Vietnam Trade Union, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union is one of the units that has successfully implemented the movement to build a grassroots cultural life. At the industry level, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union successfully organized the First Textile and Garment Industry Performance Festival in 2024 in 3 regions: North - Central - South. Nearly 1,200 union members and workers from 52 grassroots trade unions attended with the theme of praising the working class, trade union organizations, people and the textile and garment industry.
The special thing is that the Festival was Livestreamed on the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union Fanpage, creating a wide spread among union members, workers and the community. In order to promote the grassroots cultural movement to improve the spiritual life and sports for union members and workers, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union supported funding for purchasing equipment for training staff and propaganda work for the Thanh Cong Textile and Garment Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company Union, the Hanoi Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company Union and the "Four Heroes" football tournament in the Southern region with a total amount of 120 million VND.
At the grassroots level, the cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movement has been invested in by agencies, units and enterprises and tends to develop into a strong movement. Periodic and annual physical education and sports activities are maintained through break-time exercises, clubs; traditional sports tournaments... creating a useful playground and helping to unite workers at the unit.
In reality, the rapid development of various types of enterprises in economic sectors has shifted labor from provinces and rural areas to join the labor force in enterprises in large cities - where there are many industrial parks and export processing zones - leading to low cultural, professional, technical, legal knowledge and awareness of law compliance of a segment of workers; living conditions of workers still face many difficulties...
Therefore, more than ever, improving the quality of activities to build an industrial cultural lifestyle among workers and employees and the movement to build agencies, units and enterprises that meet cultural standards is extremely necessary. In particular, the Trade Union needs to propagate innovation in thinking, raise awareness and sense of responsibility of union members, workers and employees about the position and role of cultural development, improve the quality of human resources; propagate and mobilize union members and employees to study to improve their qualifications, professional skills, industrial style and labor discipline.
For example, in Hanoi, communication work on the Trade Union organization has received attention and has had many innovations, creating a deep influence among union members, workers, civil servants and laborers, and the society has been widely deployed. Thereby, contributing to promoting the image of the Trade Union organization, of Hanoians in general and the capital's labor force in particular, attracting and gathering union members, gradually pushing back bad and toxic information, and distortions about the working class and the Trade Union organization.
In addition, the Capital Trade Union at all levels strengthens and improves the quality of cultural, artistic and sports activities among workers and civil servants, organizes widespread mass cultural activities, promotes the development of mass sports to attract a large number of workers and civil servants to participate in order to contribute to building a cultural and spiritual life for workers; fosters grassroots cultural nuclei; promotes and develops creativity; contributes to improving physical and mental health, stature, longevity and healthy lifestyle of the Capital's workers and civil servants.
