Deciding to quit her job to travel with her children, Ms. Le Mai Anh (37 years old, currently living in the US) and her husband set a goal of completing 30 countries in one year.
Namibia, the 6th country she touched on a long trip, once made a female tourist worried because it was terrifying when collecting information online. However, the real-life experiences here have erased the original prejudice.
Before leaving
Located in southern Africa, the Republic of Namibia covers an area of over 800,000km2, famous for its beautiful natural landscapes, rich wildlife and unique culture.
Having explored 20 countries in the world together, for Mai Anh and her husband, the dream of Africa is always present. Because this is an interesting continent and is wanted by most travel enthusiasts.
The female tourist from Ho Chi Minh City said: "We always want to go to Africa, but if we want to explore this continent, we have to travel a long way. Namibia is a safe country, possessing unique landscapes, completely different from other African countries that only favor wild safari exploration. Moreover, to make this trip more unique, we, for the first time, decided to rent and take a long trip by mountain trip to explore Namibia.
The total cost of the Namibia trip was about 4,000 USD (more than 102 million VND), of which airfares were almost insignificant because using reward points and food expenses were saved thanks to the habit of cooking by itself. Therefore, according to Ms. Mai Anh, the most expensive cost is for means of transportation.
Before the trip, they shared with their children about living in camping cars and especially, to be wary of wild animals. binh thuong items when camping such as headlights, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, first aid bags, neutral camping clothes... are also focused on being brought.

The spectacular beauty of Namibia
On the first day of getting acquainted in the capital Windhoek, Mai Anh's family drove around the city, bought food for a long camping trip and took their children to pick strawberries at the farm. Here, there is a large-scale commercial center, fully packed with essential items, easy to find.
The next three nights, her family stopped at Sesriem, a small town in the Namib desert near the southern end of the Naukluft mountain range. Sesriem is also known as Sesriem Gate - the main entrance to Namib-Naukluft National Park to visit the famous tourist destination of Sossusvlei nearby.
Sossusvlei, a land known as the land of planets, located between sky-high sand dunes, leaving low-lying areas with bare, gray-black acacia trees that cannot decompose under the brilliant sunlight in the desert.
In addition, the "dead" dead deadvlei lagoon has also become an equally beautiful "holy land" for surreal photography, with the remaining dry, barren branches of acacia. Due to the change of water in the Tsauchab River, this place has come from a lush green area strongly promoted by the desertification process.
Sossusvlei and Deadvlei are like a giant playground filled with soft red sand, and when the sun shines in, the scenery is spectacular. We woke up before dawn to climb the red sand dunes of Sossusvlei and watch the sun rise. As for deadvlei, with the dilapidated ancient trees lying in the crystal white clay pan, it is no different from a beautiful picture, Ms. Mai Anh happily recounted.
Leaving Sesriem, the family of 4 members continues to explore Namibia in their own way. In the coastal city of Swakopmund, Mai Anh's family spent 4 quality hours together, exploring Sandwich Harbour - "a dating place of desert and ocean".
Because, when coming here, visitors can both admire the sand dunes stretching along the coast and catch a close look at each flock of birds searching for prey in the mud.
Ms. Mai Anh said: "My children really like to experiment with separating iron from the sand, exploring the pink salt pond and having lunch on the sand. However, to get to this area, prepare yourself for a slightly bumpy trip and bring an anti- intoxication drug.
In the remaining days, her family stopped at the Spitzkoppe and Damaraland rocky mountains and experienced the culture of Himba and bushmen, then traveled to Etosha National Park to enjoy trips to hunt for elephants, barren horses, pangolins...
During the days of camping outside, what surprised Mai Anh's whole family the most was that the night sky had many stars, even seeing the Milky Way.
"This trip brought us unimaginable surprises. Unique landscape, moving is not too difficult. Limited Internet connection means we have more time to spend with our family. And the people of Namibia are very friendly and hospitable, the female tourist recalled.
Saying goodbye to Namibia, Mai Anh's family continues to explore South Africa, Zimbabwe...
