Honored to participate in the Advanced Youth Congress

Talking about his inner student, coach Ho Phi Luoc of Nghe An Swimming Team talked a lot and believed that Nguyen Trong Dung still had many opportunities to develop. This teacher highly appreciated Nguyen Trong Dung's virtue of being eager to learn, listening, and accumulating expertise: "Many athletes, when they have achieved results, may soon be satisfied with themselves. However, for Nguyen Trong Dung, that did not happen. Trong Dung has been practicing and accumulating more expertise in each tournament. This virtue is truly precious to such a young face".
When talking with Nguyen Trong Dung at the National Swimming - Diving Championship for short lakes (25m) in 2025, the young man confided a lot about his career. However, from all stories, it can be seen that Nguyen Trong Dung always puts the highest professional goal first and strives to achieve results to help his hometown Nghe An sports gain a position.
This year, Nguyen Trong Dung is 22 years old (born in 2003). According to the diving professional department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports), Nguyen Trong Dung is one of the athletes with good expertise in the men's events, so the manager focuses on creating maximum conditions to help this face compete in many tournaments to develop her expertise.
32 SEA Games Gold Medal When asked which memory was the most memorable in his career, the player of the Vietnamese diving Team did not hesitate to say: "That is the result of the competition at the 32nd SEA Games in
Cambodia!". The 32nd SEA Games is the first time swimmer Nguyen Trong Dung has attended the Southeast Asian Games. For a young player (at that time Trong Dung was 20 years old), the confusion was inevitable.
However, on the green race of the 32nd SEA Games, Nguyen Trong Dung achieved outstanding results with two Gold Medals (one individual Gold Medal in the 800m duck foam air foam event, one Gold Medal in the 4x200m men's foam foam event) and one Silver Medal (the 400m duck foam event).
I still remember that moment. When I reached the first finish line, I was moved and shouted on the lake that I had done it. Many reporters interviewed me at that time. I am very proud to have the trust of the teachers, have competed to win glory for my hometown Nghe An and for Vietnamese sports, the male swimmer added.
Returning home after the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, Nguyen Trong Dung's small house was more crowded with many friends and neighbors coming to congratulate him. A rural resident of Hung Loi and Hung Nguyen communes (Nghe An) said that this was the first time a child here had appeared on television so much.
Recognizing the competition results of achieving two Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the 32nd SEA Games, Nguyen Trong Dung was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal in 2023. The male swimmer said that when Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center announced that it was on the list of people to be commended and awarded medals, he himself could not believe it was true.
I am still very young, having just competed in the SEA Games, so I did not think I would be honored with this. However, when I saw that my name was truly rewarded in the Nghe An sports list, I really believed it, the male swimmer recalled.
International tournaments (including the SEA Games) have brought achievements to Nguyen Trong Dung. However, the diving swimmer affirmed that sports are development, there must be cultivation towards the future.
The 32nd SEA Games has ended and the beautiful memories of the previous two years are taken away. Now, Nguyen Trong Dung continues to actively practice to compete in many tournaments in the national system. This guy affirmed that he will try harder because as an athlete with achievements, he cannot lose his image and professional position.
Determined to conquer the top
In March 2025 in Hue city, Nguyen Trong Dung participated in the 2025 National Swimming Championship for short-distance swimmers (25m) and continued to win an individual Gold Medal in the men's duck foam 400m event, two Silver Medals (2000m and 800m male duck foam) and a Bronze Medal (1500m male duck foam event).
On the pool in Hue city, Nghe An, an important goal, has been set by himself to be prepared to win the highest results at the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026. Through each diving tournament of the current national system, Nguyen Trong Dung actively accumulates himself as a compressive spring and in the decisive battlefield will expose the strongest compression.
Three years ago, Nguyen Trong Dung was sent by Nghe An sports to attend the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022. "I attended the Congress for the first time with the mindset of learning from my seniors. But when I got into the water, I felt confident that I could achieve the best results.
After the 9th National Thao Thuc Festival in 2022, the teachers also learned from me and I learned more from competing in the top tournament, Nguyen Trong Dung shared.
At the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022, Nguyen Trong Dung won two Gold Medals (400m duck feet air vents, 800m duck feet air vents, breaking a national record).
diving has a different characteristic than swimming. At the same time, diving swimming swimming swimming must be physically prepared. Nguyen Trong Dung started to get acquainted with sports at the age of 12. When they noticed that the student had a physical condition suitable for sports development, teachers at their hometown school introduced Nguyen Trong Dung to the Nghe An Province Sports Training and Competition Center to get acquainted with diving.
Initially, Nguyen Trong Dung was still surprised. But the more he practiced, the more familiar and passionate, so he saw this was the "intestines" that could not be abandoned. This year, Nghe An Diving Team is preparing forces towards the National Championship Swimming Tournament 2025. Nguyen Trong Dung is the key fisherman of Nghe An diving team to attend this tournament. In addition, Nam Kinh Ngu was determined to be the main force to attend the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026 next year.
