That place is just an unknown beach of an unidentified coastal village on the sea tourism map, outside the coverage of tourism activities.
With more than 3,000km of coastline, Vietnam has hundreds of such coastal villages running from Tra Co headland to Ca Mau Cape. They are separated and independent of famous beach tourism destinations such as: Ha Long, Sam Son, Cua Lo, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Vung Tau...
These coastal villages are majestically standing outside the world, innocent, honest with a peaceful lifestyle that has existed since the village was built until now. That is the livelihood of communities attached to the sea profession, sometimes not going far in their whole lives, but still being the soul of those who travel all over the world.
Now, many people are afraid to go resting in famous coastal areas, the more famous it is, the easier it is to become the choice of the crowd during the time of crowding with holidays. They did not want to move from a crowded city to a densely populated coastal area, having to turn around to see the sea.
The trips to escape at sea are mostly personal. Discovering the wild coastal villages yourself, figure out how to move, and clearly determine what you will get in the adventure. It is this factor that has completely and profoundly changed the journey back to the sea.
The time of the escape is no longer limited by the concepts of "weekends", "holidays" or "s accommodation". They will choose a coastal village that meets basic requirements such as having beautiful, deserted beaches, suitable climate, interesting landscapes, rich people's lives, gentle and hospitable local residents.
Having reached a suitable destination, everything is just a small matter. Renting a separate house, staying at a homestay if any, or living in the same house as a villager are all reasonable options. The length of stay can be a few days, a few weeks, sometimes even the whole summer.
For single people who are still single and can work remotely, coastal villages are their temporary homes. Many people in the coastal village spend all year enjoying a peaceful life that cannot be found in the city, while still being able to do their professional work.
During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, the "digital nomads" class has increased dramatically, including young Vietnamese and foreigners. They have been attached to a coastal village for a long time, or move from one coastal village to another to change the atmosphere.
There are many things in the coastal village that quickly make strangers become acquaintances. Because these are wild villages full of values that make modern people crave. They are breathing in the fresh air, spent most of it swimming or lying exposed on clean sandbanks covered with golden golden golden shade.
A new day will start by waking up to watch the sunrise while swimming or jogging. If they encounter fishing boats coming to shore, they will gather to buy the freshest batches of shrimp at cheap prices to serve as food for lunch and dinner. Eat every day, buy that day, no need to save money to get tired.
After that, go slowly to spread the porridge in the village, go to the market to have breakfast with local dishes, drinking coffee only costs tens, fifty thousand dong. There are not too many choices, but that way it will ease my head, so I won't have to worry about what to eat this morning. Happiness sometimes lies in the minimalist thing.
Boring, the worker kept turning on the computer to do it, the idle people wandered to this house to see the fish sauce, stop by the other house to look at the scene of the net, the basket of the bottle, or lie in the shade of reading, listening to birds singing, ignoring the children to play with children in the village.
At noon, cook a few dishes using seafood buckets bought in the morning and then invite the homeowner or the next door to meet and brew a few cans of beer in the cool " mat" sea breeze. When the fishermen were drunk, they landed for a night to sleep and were so impressed that their eyes could not wait for the cool afternoon sun to cool down and then take each other to swim in the sea.
After dinner, if you have to follow your boat to fish for squid and then drink on a boat or beach. The boat crew is also kind and eager to take visitors to experience fishing, diving to see coral, or tell the story of fishermen eating waves and talking to the wind. They do not consider them as strangers but as birds of interest perched in the peaceful land of their village.
Traveling through the coastal villages of Vietnam, I am filled with the salty, affectionate love of the local people. From Tra Co coastal village, Viet Hai coastal village (Cat Ba), Tam Thanh coastal village (Quang Nam), Lang Lo coastal village (Phu Yen), Hon Yen coastal village (Tuy Hoa) ... everywhere is peaceful and friendly.
Each place has its own unique charm, but all are places to escape for those who are in a state of panic because of the pressure of life in the capital. The endless waves of the fencing have taken over the rhythm of life in these coastal villages. No more haste, no more slow, very regularly from the beginning until now.
That rhythm of the sea waves does not cause people to suddenly change their state like the shock waves of a "crowd explosion" that we often encounter in places with high human density. It is like a word that gradually brings people into a world of peace and harmony.
Walking around the coastal village, meeting the residents of the coastal village, inhaling deep into the air with a strong smell, a fresh salty smell, listening to greetings, naturally feeling "back home" surging. Not this land, the people here are better than other places, but just because their psychology is simpler, not contaminated by complicated things, it makes us feel more clearly.
The word "village" itself is also a protective layer for that pure identity against the collision of the outside world. They are lenient with strangers coming to their villages to paint murals, pick up trash on the beach, and inspire better ways to make money from tourism.
They are also tolerant enough to welcome back-and-forth pilgrims here, sometimes staying long-term by buying land to build a house without worrying that at some point, the quality and style of their village will change and the style of their village will be different from before. I just hope that change will not happen, because if not, where will those who have fled know?
