On January 10, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor held a meeting to summarize the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in 2024, and set out directions and tasks for 2025.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in 2024, about 250,000 union members and workers were cared for and supported by unions at all levels, with a total amount of nearly 70 billion VND. This demonstrates the deep concern, companionship and sharing of the union organization for union members and workers.
The work of protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers has received special attention, which has had a positive impact on building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in local enterprises. In particular, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is one of the typical units that has successfully supported and protected workers in lawsuits in court.
In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor completed and exceeded 15/16 targets assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (only 9,239 union members were developed, reaching 74.5% of the target), ensuring quality and progress as planned. Thereby contributing to affirming the role and position of the trade union organization in the local political system. And was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for outstanding achievements in trade union activities in 2024.
In 2025, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor launched a patriotic emulation movement with the theme: "Determination to innovate, actively create, improve labor productivity, work efficiency, save, fight waste, welcome Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, welcome the Conference, Patriotic Emulation Congresses at all levels, the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress".
Mr. Le Van Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the emulation movement was organized in 2 phases, phase 1 from January 1 to June 30 and phase 2 from July 1 to December 31. The unit has set many key tasks to implement.
For example, organizing emulation to improve the quality and effectiveness of representative activities, protecting legitimate and legal rights and interests, caring for the lives and ensuring jobs for union members and workers; determined to implement solutions to develop union members, establish grassroots unions, especially in non-state enterprises.
Organize to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies on streamlining the organizational apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities of trade unions at all levels; promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations to propagate and mobilize union members, cadres, civil servants and public employees to agree and comply with decisions on the arrangement of organizational apparatus and job positions.
Emulation to promote the application of information technology, digital transformation and administrative reform in trade union activities; emulation "Innovation, creativity and efficiency in trade union activities"...
On this occasion, on behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Labor Confederation organized the awarding of flags, certificates of merit and certificates of Creative Labor to outstanding collectives and individuals honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. At the same time, reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities in 2024.
