The tournament attracted more than 300 athletes from 18 teams from 17 direct grassroots trade unions (District and City Labor Federations; Industry Trade Unions; Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Unions; Provincial Industrial Zone Trade Unions) and the Provincial Tax Department Trade Union (coordinating unit). The teams were divided into 4 groups and competed in a round-robin format.
According to the organizers' assessment, throughout the tournament, the players competed enthusiastically, unitedly and honestly; complied with the regulations of the Organizing Committee, the tournament rules and the referee's decisions, creating an exciting atmosphere for each match.
After more than two months of competition with 40 exciting matches, the Organizing Committee has selected the best teams to enter the final round.
In the final result, in the third place match, the Bac Giang City Labor Federation team won the Education Trade Union team with a score of 2-1.
In the final match, the two teams of Tan Yen District Labor Federation and Hiep Hoa District Labor Federation competed fiercely and tied with a score of 3-3 in the two official matches.
In the penalty shootout, the Hiep Hoa District Labor Federation team defeated the Tan Yen District Labor Federation team with a score of 5-4, excellently winning the championship cup of the tournament.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes including: Player with the most goals to Mr. Phan Doan Hau (Tan Yen District Labor Union) with 14 goals; Best goalkeeper to Mr. Nguyen Van Huy (Hiep Hoa District Labor Union); Team style award belongs to the Provincial Education Trade Union.
The 5th Provincial Men's Football Tournament for Workers and Civil Servants is one of the activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Trade Union on December 1 (1946-2024).
The tournament is held every two years to create a healthy and beneficial sports playground for workers. At the same time, it creates opportunities for union members and workers to exchange, strengthen solidarity, and contribute to the development of sports movements in units, agencies and enterprises.
