After more than a month of competition in 4 regional qualifying rounds in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Nghe An, Bac Ninh with 54 teams, going through 104 matches with 498 goals scored, the 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament has found the 16 best teams to participate in the National Final Round.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's finals will feature 16 teams, doubling the number of participants. The increase in the number of participating teams also means more matches, giving players more opportunities to compete and interact with each other.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament, said: "The 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament is jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Tuoi Tre newspaper to improve the spiritual life and health of union members and workers. The tournament also contributes to increasing labor productivity, strengthening class solidarity, developing sports, and developing the economy and society."
16 teams are divided into 4 groups: Group A, B, C and D, playing a round robin based on ranking points. The first and second placed teams in the 4 groups will compete in the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals.
In addition, the National Finals also have many other awards such as Best Player, Player with the most goals, Best Goalkeeper, Most Fairplay Team, Most Impressive Cheerleader Team, Best Referee Team. Each award is worth 10 million VND.
The final round of the 2024 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament will compete over 3 days (November 1-3).
