At the conference, Vice President of Can Tho City Labor Federation Doan Van Dung reported on the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and the City's Trade Union activities in the third quarter of 2024.
Accordingly, the production and business situation in the city is stable, workers are assured in production; activities to care for social security policies are implemented with attention by the Trade Union at all levels.
Regarding the implementation of the new wage policy, some initial results have been achieved. Through many times the State adjusted the regional minimum wage and increased the basic wage coefficient, the lives of cadres, workers, civil servants and laborers have been relatively stable, and they feel secure in their work.
During the quarter, the City Labor Federation developed 687 union members, bringing the total number from the beginning of the year to 5,622/8,500 union members, reaching 66.14%, currently there are 88,590 union members; established 5 Trade Unions (TUs), bringing the total number from the beginning of the year to 21 grassroots Trade Unions (TUs), TUs/24 grassroots Trade Unions, TUs, reaching 87.5%, currently there are 1,204 grassroots Trade Unions.
In addition, the City Labor Federation introduced 37 outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting, bringing the total number from the beginning of the year to 659/1,193 outstanding union members, reaching 55.23%, admitting 259 outstanding union members into the Party.
Regarding the work of caring for and protecting the rights of workers, in the third quarter, legal advice was provided to union members and workers; guiding grassroots unions to proactively coordinate with authorities and professional colleagues at the same level to organize conferences for cadres, civil servants and public employees, reaching 100%; conferences for workers reaching 77.53%. Providing advice to 2,565 cases on labor contracts, unilateral termination of labor contracts, social insurance regimes, etc.
At the same time, supervise the direction of Trade Unions at all levels to implement "Trade Union Meals", with 91 Trade Union units and enterprises organizing "Trade Union Meals" associated with many activities, with nearly 30,000 union members and workers participating.
The Management Board of the Golden Heart Fund surveyed 14 and considered supporting 22 shelters for union members with difficult housing circumstances, with a total amount of 1 billion VND. Handed over 4 Union Shelters in 2024. Supported 2 cases of serious illness with a total amount of 5 million VND.
During the quarter, the Union at all levels organized 365 visits and sick leave for union members and their families, totaling more than 100 million VND.
In particular, the City Labor Federation organized a "Mass Wedding Ceremony" for union members and workers in 2024, with 8 couples selected to participate, with over 300 guest delegates, families, and relatives of the couples attending....
