On January 21, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Tham - Chairwoman of Ham Thang Ward Trade Union (Lam Dong province) said that, authorized by the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, the Ward Trade Union has organized to provide support to union members and workers affected by storms and floods in 2025.
This support round is for cases affected by floods that occurred in early December 2025. Ham Thang Ward is identified as one of the "flood centers", heavily affected by natural disasters.
Many workers' and laborers' families have houses deeply flooded, property damaged, and life facing many difficulties after the flood.

According to the allocation of funds by the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, in the 2nd support phase, the Trade Union of Ham Thang ward was allocated 233 support slots for union members and workers.
In which, there are 12 scholarships at a rate of 1 million VND/scholarship, the remaining scholarships are at a rate of 500,000 VND. The total support cost in this phase is 122.5 million VND, deducted from the source of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The selection of subjects and levels of support is carried out on the basis of reviewing the extent of property damage of each worker household. Thereby, ensuring support for the right subjects and the right actual needs.
Immediately after being allocated funds, Ham Thang Ward Trade Union coordinated with affiliated grassroots trade unions to organize timely support for union members and affected workers. Support items are transferred directly to workers, helping them have more resources to overcome immediate difficulties.

Although the value of each support package cannot fully compensate for the damage caused by natural disasters, this is a timely sharing, showing the role, responsibility and companionship of the trade union organization with union members and workers in difficult times.
Previously, in the first support phase after the flood in November 2025, from the funding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, the Trade Union of Ham Thang Ward was allocated 110 support slots.
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ham Thang ward also mobilized philanthropists to support an additional 20 scholarships, with a total value of 20 million VND.
Overall, through 2 phases, the total amount of support for union members and workers affected by storms and floods in Ham Thang ward has exceeded 200 million VND.
In the context of the Lunar New Year approaching, when many workers' families are still busy with worries after natural disasters, timely support from the trade union organization is not only material but also an important source of spiritual encouragement, helping workers confidently overcome difficulties, gradually stabilize their lives and celebrate Tet in less difficult conditions.
