On January 1, information from the Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor said that in 2024, the unit had admitted 5,816 workers into the trade union organization.
Mr. Hoang Lien, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation emphasized: "We are determined not to leave any gaps or white spaces regarding trade unions in enterprises with 15 or more union members."
To achieve this goal, the unit coordinates and exchanges information with relevant sectors and units to grasp the establishment and operation of enterprises. This is also the basis for assigning targets for developing union members and establishing grassroots unions to each union at the level directly above the grassroots level.
Unions at all levels assign union officials to each enterprise with the motto "go to every alley, know every enterprise".
Union officials spend a lot of time approaching workers, organizing propaganda sessions, mobilizing workers to voluntarily join the Vietnam Trade Union and providing guidance on establishing grassroots unions.
According to Mr. Hoang Lien, for business owners who do not agree or support the establishment of a union in their unit, they must be determined to persist. "Slow and steady wins the race", repeatedly persuading business owners to understand the accompanying role of the union in the enterprise.
In 2024, with this approach and the determination of all levels of trade unions, the unit established 48 new grassroots trade unions, mobilized and admitted 5,816 workers into the trade union organization.
“We mobilized and supported the establishment of 3 grassroots unions with 140 union members who are freelance workers working as technology drivers, transporters and loaders,” Mr. Hoang Lien added.
