On April 25, Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Provincial Labor Safety and Hygiene Council to organize a launching ceremony for the Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene and Workers' Month 2025.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1989 - May 1, 2024).
The event was held at Da Lat Fiber Limited Liability Company, in Phat Chi Industrial Cluster, Tram Hanh Commune, Da Lat City.
The launching ceremony was attended by leaders of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the Trade Union of Lam Dong province, Da Lat city and more than 300 cadres, union members and workers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Theu - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Lam Dong province - emphasized that in recent years, with the efforts of all levels, sectors and all workers, occupational safety and hygiene work in the locality has achieved many positive results.
Notably, the number of work accidents causing deaths and serious injuries has decreased significantly.
Many typical models and examples in ensuring occupational safety and hygiene have been recognized. Many businesses have proactively implemented solutions to prevent and reduce occupational accidents and diseases.
At the same time, trade unions also actively care for the material and spiritual lives of workers, contributing to improving the quality of life for workers.
Ms. Theu said that the theme of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025 is: "Strengthening assessment, identification of risks and risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace".
The theme of this year's Workers' Month is: "Vietnamese workers pioneer in entering a new era".
Ms. Le Thi Theu affirmed: With practical topics, we are determined to control occupational accidents, prevent occupational diseases, towards a safe and effective production environment, creating sustainable jobs and improving the lives of workers.
On this occasion, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in 2024.
Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor also presented 30 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, each worth VND500,000.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with relevant units to organize a fire fighting drill at Da Lat Fiber Limited Liability Company.
