On May 14, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation organized the opening of the 2026 Workers' Day to celebrate the success of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, towards the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the 2026-2031 term.
Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of grassroots trade unions and more than 300 athletes who are officials, union members, and workers from many agencies and units in the area.
This year, the festival is organized with many rich contents such as tug-of-war, pickleball, volleyball and folk games.
After the opening ceremony, the teams entered the competition in a united, exciting and determined atmosphere. Fierce tug-of-war in tug-of-war or beautiful ball phases attracted a large number of union members and workers to cheer enthusiastically.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem emphasized that the Workers' Day is a practical activity to create a healthy and useful playground for union members and workers after stressful working hours; and at the same time strengthen the connection between agencies and units.
In addition to sports activities, within the framework of the program, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation also organizes free legal advice for union members and workers with many practical contents related to regimes, labor policies, social insurance, health insurance, occupational safety and health and issues arising in labor relations.
Lao Cai Provincial Workers' Day 2026 takes place in 2 days. The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held on the afternoon of May 15.
