On September 1st, the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation said that it had just deducted 100 million VND from the Trade Union Social Fund to support the repair and new construction of 3 "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union members belonging to the grassroots trade union of Bac Quang Binh Industrial Co., Ltd.
In which, union members Nguyen Thi Lan and Truong Duc Tam were supported with 25 million VND/person for house repair; union member Tran Van Son was supported with 50 million VND for building a new house.
The families are all in difficult circumstances, their houses are degraded but there are no conditions for repair and construction.
Union member Nguyen Thi Lan has a house built in 1992, which is currently degraded, peeling walls, cracks, and leaking roofs. She is raising two young children and living with her elderly father-in-law, who is often sick, while the family's income is still limited.
Union member Truong Duc Tam's family also faces difficulties when the house has deteriorated after many years of use. The family has two children in secondary school, and his wife works as a contract cook with low income.
Meanwhile, for many years, union member Tran Van Son's family has had to live in a temporary wooden house of about 40 m2, which is dilapidated and often flooded in the rainy season. The family has two young children, his wife works in the fields and is often sick.
With the support of the Trade Union, Mr. Son's family has more conditions to build a new house in a higher and safer location; the other two families have funds to repair and improve their accommodation.
Supporting the construction and repair of "Trade Union Shelter" houses helps union members reduce housing difficulties, stabilize their lives and have more conditions to take care of their families.
Thereby, showing the concern and sharing of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in difficult circumstances; adding motivation for union members to feel secure in working, working and attached to the Trade Union organization.
