Bringing workers what they need

Kiều Vũ |

Hanoi - Caring activities are implemented by the Trade Union based on the needs of workers. These activities are further focused on during Workers' Month.

Every concern and sharing of the Trade Union organization is a great source of encouragement for union members and workers. Many union members and workers shared that "the concern of the Union warms our hearts and makes us feel secure at work".

In Hanoi, the Hanoi Construction Trade Union has organized and implemented many activities to promptly care for union members and workers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nu, Ba Dinh branch of Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited, was very moved when sharing about the Mobile accommodation model for workers organized by the Hanoi Construction Trade Union in coordination with the Company Trade Union.

Since its establishment on Workers' Month in 2024, Mobile accommodation has brought many benefits to union members and workers, especially creating conditions for those living far away to rest.

"This is not only a place to avoid rain and sun during the break, but also a place for relatives from far away to have a place to lie on their backs when the work is late at night and have a work shift early the next day" - Ms. Nu said.

Because of the practical benefits of Mobile accommodation, union members and workers hope that the Union will continue to implement this model in many areas to suit the specific characteristics of the work spread across the areas.

The concern of the Hanoi Construction Trade Union for union members and workers is not only long-term like the Mobile accommodation model but also promptly supports difficult cases.

On April 29, the Hanoi Construction Trade Union visited and presented support to the family of Ms. Lai Hai Yen - a union member, a worker at Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited.

Ms. Yen recently passed away from a traffic accident while cleaning the environment on the extended Huynh Thuc Khang road.

Ms. Yen is the economic pillar of the family because her husband, a former Hanoi bus driver, has been out of work for two years due to poor health and no longer being able to work. The couple's son is in 12th grade.

Faced with the difficult circumstances and great loss of Ms. Yen's family, the Hanoi Construction Trade Union has called on all union members and workers in grassroots trade unions under the industry to unite, practice the spirit of mutual love and support to help Ms. Lai Hai Yen's family.

After nearly a week of launching, the amount of money donated by union members and workers in the Hanoi Construction Industry, shared with Ms. Yen's family, was 57,650,000 VND.

This amount was given to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Chairwoman of the Hanoi Construction Trade Union to Ms. Lai Hai Yen's family. Ms. Lai Hai Yen's family was very touched by the hearts of the brothers and sisters in the industry and especially the direct attention and sharing of the Trade Union organization.
