Many resorts on the outskirts of Hanoi are "out of rooms" during the holidays
The April 30 - May 1 holiday is creating a short-term tourism wave exploding at resorts along the capital.
Recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on May 1st, resorts along the Capital (1-3 hours from the center), many retreat and homestay areas amidst nature in neighboring provinces have been fully booked very early, even a month before the holiday.
According to accommodation establishment owners, one of the main reasons why resorts in the suburbs of Hanoi attract tourists is the short travel distance, reasonable cost and suitable for short holidays. Instead of long-day trips, many families choose weekend or holiday vacations to balance between rest and work.

Tan Son Nhat airport is clear on May 1st, welcoming nearly 99,000 passengers
Unlike the bustling atmosphere of the early days of the holiday, recorded on May 1st, Tan Son Nhat airport was quite airy. It is expected that on this day, the airport will welcome nearly 100,000 passengers with operating indicators at a stable level.
According to the operating plan from Tan Son Nhat Airport Operation Center on May 1, 2026, transport pressure at the port has cooled down significantly compared to the starting period of the holiday. In the terminal lobby and airport gateway areas, traffic and order are maintained stably, passengers move conveniently, no longer congestion or long queues. People do not have to spend too much time completing check-in procedures or security checks.

10th grade enrollment in Ho Chi Minh City, 137 high schools increase targets
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has announced the 10th grade enrollment targets for 181 public schools.
In the 2026-2027 school year, the whole city enrolls more than 118,000 students in grade 10, equivalent to more than 70% of the total of more than 169,000 students completing the secondary school program.
According to statistics, out of 181 high schools, 137 schools increased enrollment targets.
Phuoc Kien High School increased the most with 375 targets; followed by Thai Hoa High School increasing 365 targets; Nguyen Van Tang, Vo Truong Toan, Ho Thi Bi high schools also increased 315 targets.
