Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF), Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front attended and spoke at the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, unions and leaders of localities; Cuban Embassy in Vietnam; representatives of international embassies and organizations; outstanding collectives and individuals responding to the Program, and authors who won prizes for the Song Composition Campaign on Cuba.
Total donations to the Cuban people reached 615 billion VND
At the ceremony, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh said that right after the national launching ceremony held on August 13, 2025 in Hanoi, the Program quickly received support from a large number of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, officers, soldiers, students, and workers in all fields, especially the majority of the people.
After only 30 hours of launching, the program received 65 billion VND, achieving the initial minimum target; after 48 hours of launching, it doubled the initial target (130 billion VND); after more than 3 weeks of launching, it received a total value of over 400 billion VND. By the end of October 16, 2025, the total amount of donations reached VND 615 billion, 9.5 times higher than the original target.
Previously, on September 1, 2025, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, under the witness of General Secretary To Lam, Comrade Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of Cuba and many senior leaders of the two countries, Comrade Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, presented nearly 385 billion VND to the Cuban people in the first phase.
The money raised for the second phase of the Program will be managed publicly and transparently, continuing to be delivered to the Cuban people as soon as possible, contributing to sharing difficulties with the country, strengthening the special friendship between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Cuba - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh shared.
Along with that, in response to the "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba" Program, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations has coordinated with the Literature and Arts Times and the Vietnam Musicians Association to organize a songwriting campaign "Vietnam - Cuba, forever the song of solidarity and friendship". 22 songs were selected for the final round, awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 10 Encouragement Prizes, along with 4 Dedication Prizes and 2 Accompanying Prizes.
At the same time, the Organizing Committee selected 65 excellent songs to publish the music collection "Vietnam - Cuba, forever the song of solidarity and friendship". At the ceremony, the collection demo was solemnly presented to comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Vietnam.

Open up many new ways of thinking and doing things

That shows that the program 65 years of Vietnam - Cubas affection has touched the hearts of all Vietnamese people; arousing spiritual strength, creative inspiration and pride in the special, rare friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. Through the report of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, we are pleased and excited to report to the Party and the State, leaders at all levels, and report to all people that the "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba" program has been a great success, exceeding the expectations of the Organizing Committee" - Chairman Do Van Chien affirmed.

The success of the 65 years of Vietnam - Cubas affection program opens up many new and appropriate ways of thinking and working to effectively implement the three pillars: Party foreign affairs, state diplomacy, and peoples foreign affairs between Vietnam and Cuba to foster and elevate the new level of the traditional, close friendship between Vietnam and Cuba as brothers and sisters, which is increasingly strong and good - President Do Van Chien emphasized.
