The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society said that according to the latest statistics, as of 8:00 p.m. on October 16, the Cuban People's Support Campaign Program with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba's affection" has reached over 555.8 billion VND with over 2 million donations.
This result deeply demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, friendship and loyal affection of the Vietnamese people for the Cuban people. The program's closing ceremony will be held on October 18.

The program will be held for 65 days, from August 13 to October 16, with the goal of mobilizing a minimum of 65 billion VND to support the Cuban people to overcome some of their difficulties.
Previously, right after the National Launching Ceremony on August 13 in Hanoi, the Campaign Program quickly received widespread response from all walks of life. Through online campaign channels, the program achieved the target of mobilizing at least 65 billion VND in just 30 hours.
Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh said: On October 3, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez said that the money mobilized to support the Cuban people had been partially used to solve equipment in power transmission and distribution. This is the most urgent issue, affecting the daily lives of the Cuban people the most. In the coming time, the Vietnam Red Cross Society will continue to update information on specific support activities from Vietnamese people's resources for the Cuban people, thereby further spreading the spirit of solidarity and loyal friendship between the two peoples.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, this is the first time an international campaign program of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has achieved a scale of millions of donations and hundreds of billions of VND in just a record short time. Timely and transparent information about the amount of donations, the number of donations, and the support and support of central and local press agencies, the communication channels of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, and social networking sites (in Vietnamese, Spanish and English) have contributed to the strong spread of the Program.
2025 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (1960 - 2025).
