95-year-old woman brings personal savings to support people affected by floods

As of 5:00 p.m. on October 10, individuals, units and organizations have registered to donate through the Central Relief Mobilization Committee - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front with more than VND 887 billion.

On October 10, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central Party Committee member and Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh, on behalf of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers under the agency, presented 740 million VND to support people affected by storms and floods.

Awarding the donation of 740 million VND from the Ministry of Justice to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh mentioned the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in allocating support resources, ensuring resources to people in areas with difficult transportation, to the right subjects, the right locations that need support, avoiding the situation of surplus and shortage; in fact, there are many charity groups that can only go to convenient and accessible transportation places.

Expressing deep sympathy for the losses that people in flood-affected areas have to bear, Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh shared that with personal responsibility and responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers under the Ministry of Justice hope that through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the support will partly ease the pain of loss of people in the face of the huge losses caused by natural disasters.

Present at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (No. 46 Trang Thi, Hanoi), Mr. Hoang Thi Tuong Vinh, 95 years old (Tran Hung Dao Street, Hanoi) personally presented 1 million VND to support people affected by storms and floods from personal savings. She was moved to share that in recent days, listening to the radio and TV to see the scene of dilapidated roofs, devastated fields, and the miserable faces of people in flooded areas could not help but choke up. Knowing that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a reliable and legitimate address in receiving support, he wanted to contribute a small part to help people affected by natural disasters and floods overcome difficulties.

Receiving the donation, Party Central Committee member and Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga respectfully thanked the affection and responsibility of agencies, collectives, and people towards people in disaster areas; at the same time, she said that these days, many agencies, organizations, businesses and philanthropists have directly come to the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to present the donation money, which demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the nation.

As of 5:00 p.m. on October 10, 2025, individuals, units and organizations have registered to donate through the Central Relief Mobilization Committee's account of more than VND 887 billion. Wherever the money goes, the Front will promptly allocate it to the locality to support the people there," Ms. Ha Thi Nga informed and emotionally shared, among the people who came to support was a 95-year-old man who brought 1 million VND to contribute a small part to help people in flooded areas, "a truly precious heart".
