Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF), Central organizations attended and spoke at the Congress. The Congress is tasked with evaluating the results of the work for the 2020-2025 term; proposing directions, tasks, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term and discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, and Central organizations.
Implementing the streamlining and reorganization of the apparatus, summarizing Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee and the direction of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, on February 10, 2025, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations was newly established on the basis of merging the Party Delegation and the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations under the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations.
After the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations issued a decision to establish a Party Committee and a regulation on the functions and tasks of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee has developed documents to perfect the organization of the Party Committee and clearly define the functions and tasks. With the new role of the Party organization merging the Party Delegation with the Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Association held a conference to disseminate the Resolutions and Directives of the Party, and at the same time train and improve Party work skills for Party cell committees at all levels. Through that, the sense of responsibility of party members, especially party members holding leadership positions of agencies and units, is enhanced, the awareness of cadres, party members and the masses about the responsibility and obligations to implement the Party's Directives and Resolutions.
The Party Committee of the Vietnam Socialist Republic has also seriously implemented the direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and central organizations; accordingly, at the Central Office of the Vietnam Socialist Republic, the International Cooperation Committee with the Department of Science, Technology and Environment has been merged into the Department of Science and International Cooperation; the Association Policy Organizing Committee with the Office has been merged into the Office; the name of the Consulting, Reprimand and Social Assessment Committee has been changed to the Consulting and Reprimand Committee; the name of the Communication and Knowledge Distribution Committee has been changed to the Knowledge Distribution Committee. Thus, through the arrangement, 2 departments have been reduced, currently there are only 4 units (03 professional departments and offices). The ideological situation of cadres, party members, members and workers in the Party Committee is stable.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Trade Unions said that in the past term, the work of Party building has been of interest and focused on by the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, with positive changes, gradually overcoming shortcomings and limitations; focusing on political and ideological education. Inspection and supervision work has been gradually focused on. The Party Committee has led the implementation of political tasks with many innovations, demonstrating dynamism, creativity, bringing practical results, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
Recognizing and praising the results achieved by the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in the past term, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc suggested that in the coming time, the Party Committee should focus on and be determined to implement the theme of the Congress: "Building a clean and strong Party Committee, innovating activities; gathering and uniting scientific and technological intellectuals to make worthy contributions to the country's development in the era of national growth"; thereby affirming the position and role of the Party Committee, worthy of being a Party organization of scientific and technological intellectuals, responding to the trust and expectations of the Party and the people.
At the Congress, representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central organizations announced the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central organizations appointing personnel to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations for the 2025-2030 term.
