On October 15, 2025, within the framework of the 34th General Meeting Program of the World Bank for Savings and Retail (WSBI) - a prestigious international organization in the retail banking sector - held in Washington D.C., USA, Agribank was honored to receive the WSBI-ESBG Sustainable Development Award 2025 in the category of "Comprehensive Banking and Social Impact" with Agribank Plus product.
WSBI is an association established in 1924 and headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, with more than 6,000 members who are savings and retail banks from nearly 80 countries around the world, acting as a bridge to promote cooperation, experience exchange and sustainable development in the banking industry. WSBI plays an important role in representing the voice of savings banks before global organizations such as the IMF, WB and the European Union, while promoting financial inclusion, digital transformation and supporting socio-economic development in member countries.
The tournament, organized by WSJI in collaboration with the European Savings and Retail Banking Group (ESBG), is the first event to honor outstanding initiatives contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in six categories: Comprehensive Banking and Social Impact; Economic growth and Empowerment; Digital transformation and Technology Innovation; Climate Finance; Customer Education and Consumer Protection; International Cooperation and Community Development. These items demonstrate the comprehensive development orientation of WSBI-ESBG in promoting financial innovation associated with social, environmental and sustainable education values.
