On June 15, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a press conference to inform about the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026 - 2031.
The 13th National Youth Union Congress had the action slogan: "Self-reliance - Pioneering creativity - Aspiration to contribute - Mastering the future".
The slogan consists of 4 components reflecting 4 characteristics of youth and requirements for youth in the new era of the nation, closely following the action motto set by General Secretary and President To Lam for youth in the article "Youth with the future of the country".
The Congress has the task of: Summarizing and evaluating youth union work and youth and children's movements for the term 2022 - 2026; determining goals, tasks, and solutions for Youth Union work and youth and children's movements for the XIII term (2026 - 2031). Amending and supplementing the Charter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; electing the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the XIII term.
The Congress was attended by 786 official delegates representing 21.6 million Vietnamese union members and youth at home and abroad.
There are 312 female delegates; 474 male delegates. There are 144 delegates who are ethnic minorities. The average age of the delegation attending the congress is 31.7 years old.
With a master's degree or higher, there are 313 delegates, including 1 associate professor, 23 doctors. With intermediate, advanced and bachelor's degrees in political theory, there are 503 delegates.
There are 2 delegates representing Vietnamese youth abroad, representatives of the Youth Union Affairs Committee in Laos and China.
The youngest delegate is Truong Nguyen An Nhien (born in 2010) - a student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Hue City, Hue.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association - said that the deputy structure ensures representativeness, inheritance, and typicalness in all fields, localities, and young people.
In which, there are female delegates, delegates who are ethnic minorities, delegates of Vietnamese youth abroad, delegates with high professional qualifications and political theory.
This is a vivid image of a generation of Youth Union officials, union members, and Vietnamese youth who are brave, intelligent, dynamic, creative and have a strong desire to contribute," said Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet.
The 13th National Youth Union Congress will take place in two days, June 24-25, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), including 4 sessions.
The first session focused on the organizational contents, approving the program, regulations, delegate status verification reports, presenting summary documents and presentations.
The second session organized the election of the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union and discussions at forums and delegation groups.
The third session is a solemn session, with important contents, especially the directing speeches of Party and State leaders, launching the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Secretariat of the Central Youth Union.
The fourth session is reporting on the results of discussions and voting on some contents of the Congress, passing Resolutions and closing the Congress.
