On November 22, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Can Tho City held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Trade Unions, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - acknowledged the outstanding results of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Can Tho City in the past term. He suggested that the City Front continue to closely follow the Party's viewpoints and policies, especially Resolution 43-NQ/TW, effectively implementing 7 groups of solutions in accordance with local realities.
Mr. Doan requested the Can Tho Front to strongly innovate propaganda and mobilization work; focus on substantial results, avoiding formality. According to him, the Front levels need to concretize the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the first Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations for the 2025-2030 term according to 3 viewpoints and 6 focuses.
Mr. Doan suggested that it is necessary to strongly promote socialist democracy, improve the substance of social supervision and criticism; contribute ideas to build a clean and strong Party and State; actively participate in preventing and combating corruption, negativity and waste. He also noted the need to improve the organization, clarify responsibilities, and focal points; regularly train and foster the team of Front cadres and cadres of organizations to meet the requirements of tasks in the new context and situation; promote the "Digital Front Portal", organize "People's Listener", and put technology into management and supervision to serve people faster and more transparently.
For Can Tho, he suggested that the Front continue to accompany the government in implementing Resolution 59-NQ/TW; strengthen people's trust, contribute to developing the city towards an ecological, civilized, modern urban area, preserving identity and improving the quality of life of the people.
At the Congress, Mr. Le Quang Tung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee - suggested many key issues, in which the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City in the coming term will continue to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's ideology and the Party's policies and guidelines on great national unity; effectively implement Resolution 43 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to promote the tradition and strength of great national unity.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee requested to promote the launch of patriotic emulation movements. Promote the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people, regularly listen to and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people; promptly report to the Party Committee and the government for consideration and resolution right from the grassroots level.
