On May 25, a delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City led by Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the VFF Committee of Ho Chi Minh City visited and paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane Capital, Lao People's Democratic Republic. This is the first activity within the framework of the working program of the VFF Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in Laos.
Receiving and working with the delegation were Deputy Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Laos Nguyen Manh Ha, along with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos.
Before the working session, the delegation offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the memorial space within the premises of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos.
At the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Truong Thi Bich Hanh said that this working trip aims to assess the results of implementing the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Lao Front for National Construction of Vientiane Capital and Champasak province. At the same time, strengthening people-to-people diplomacy activities, caring for the Vietnamese community in Laos and implementing social security activities in localities.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also informed that the working trip takes place in the context that the two countries are actively implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam; towards the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; along with the success of the election of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels in Vietnam, continuing to consolidate the people's trust and consensus towards the leadership of the Party and State.
In particular, the working trip was organized immediately after the success of the Congress of Delegates of the Lao Front for National Construction; the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 - 2031 and the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Ho Chi Minh City. This is an important premise to continue to strengthen cooperative relations, exchange Front work experiences and promote the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and Laos in the spirit of "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion".
At the working session, the delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also expressed their desire to continue to receive the coordination and support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos in connecting people-to-people diplomacy activities, caring for the Vietnamese community in Laos and expanding cooperative relations with the Lao Front for national construction in localities of Laos in the coming time.
On the same day, a delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked with the Vietnamese Association of Vientiane Capital and organized the presentation of gifts to care for people in difficult circumstances in the locality.
