On the afternoon of August 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to collect comments from members of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF), the Lawyers Association, the City Bar Association and the Mass Associations assigned by the Party and State on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress and Draft Political Report to be submitted to the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City suggested that the delegates focus on giving comments and assessments on the domestic and international situation, advantages and difficulties in the past term.
At the same time, evaluate the viewpoints and goals of building and developing the city in the period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045; give comments on the requirements, tasks, potential position, role, and position of Ho Chi Minh City in the next term...
Commenting on the draft Political Report, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thanh Binh - former Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Youth and Children, commented that after the merger, the authorities at both levels will face many difficulties, challenges, and problems. Therefore, the city also needs to have solutions to respond and overcome in a timely manner.
Ho Chi Minh City is a super city of the country, the central budget for the city to retain needs to be commensurate with the new position, role, and position of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger, so that the city can reach new heights in the new era. Especially when the city's development scale is not only at the forefront of the country, but is also placed in comparison with large cities in the region and the world.
Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau - Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association said that investing in developing a judicial support system is not a secondary task. In the coming term, Ho Chi Minh City needs to identify this as a strategic pillar in the overall judicial reform process.
