Vinh Long - On November 19, the official working session of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress opened with 340/342 delegates attending.

Speaking at the opening of the official working session, comrade Kim Ngoc Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Vinh Long province - emphasized the joy of celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Front and the Provincial Party Congress, affirming the core role of the Front in building the great national unity bloc.

The Congress is the first time after merging the three provinces of Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre, marking a new stage in the development of the great national unity bloc. The new province has an area of 6,296 km2, a population of 3.38 million people, ethnic minorities account for 11.03%, and religious minorities account for 33.4%.

During the past term, the entire Front system has organized more than 49,800 propaganda sessions, implemented 121 supervision contents, 201 social criticism sessions, mobilized the Fund for the Poor to reach over 375 billion VND, built new and repaired more than 11,500 Great Unity houses for tens of thousands of poor households.

The Congress identified 4 main tasks including reviewing the previous term, discussing draft documents, holding consultations to elect the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Vinh Long province, term I, and electing delegations to attend the National Congress.

On behalf of the Presidium, comrade Kim Ngoc Thai solemnly declared the opening of the 1st Vinh Long Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

At the official working session, the Congress listened to the report on the results of the working session on November 18, in which it compiled comments on the draft documents of the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, reviewed the activities of the 2024-2029 term, discussed, and consulted with the Committee and the Standing Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Previously, at the advisory session held on November 18, the Congress approved the working program, rules, regulations and important procedures, helping delegates grasp the working methods and ensure consistency. The report on the results of the Front's work in the last term was presented, and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 period were discussed carefully and fully.

The delegates agreed on major emulation movements, the role of supervision and social criticism, as well as important contents on building the Party, government and consolidating the great national unity bloc.

The extra session also recorded many discussions on innovating the method of gathering people, building a core model at the grassroots level, improving the effectiveness of propaganda work and applying digital transformation in the Front's activities.
