Shelters, a source of charity capital create a turning point to escape poverty
In a house that still smells of new bricks, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Duyen in Binh Tien 1 Hamlet, Giong Trom Commune, Vinh Long Province is happy that her dream of a solid place to live after many years of poverty has come true.
More than ten years ago, she and her husband were given land to build a temporary house, living by growing coconuts and working for hire. Unstable work, young children of school age make the family always in need, the house is seriously degraded.
In June 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Giong Trom town mobilized the Southern Power Corporation to support 60 million VND to help the family build a new house. The brothers and clans contributed to completing the solid residence.
Ms. Duyen said that in the first days of getting into the new house, "I couldn't sleep because I was so happy", when my child had a corner to study, a clean toilet, and a more stable life after many years of living in a dilapidated state.
Having a solid place to live, the couple tried to do business. Her husband worked for hire, she worked for hire, raising 2,000 free-range chickens. Each batch of chickens earns 30 million VND to help the family escape poverty sustainably.

Similarly, Mr. Huynh Van Phu Ni's household in Phu Phung A commune said that he was supported by the Farmers' Association to borrow 50 million VND and then up to 100 million VND.
From timely support, he boldly invested in new varieties, renovated the garden, created more jobs for local workers and increased income to be more stable.
"Previously, the family was poor, raising an elderly mother and two young children. Now the economy is better, the family also hires people to do and teach them ornamental bending techniques so that they can have a stable job," Mr. Ni added.
Spreading the social security movement
According to the report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Vinh Long province, the temporary house removal program has supported 14,738 houses, bringing the province to the finish line as soon as possible and recognized by the Central Government.
In addition to housing support, the Vietnam Fatherland Front also mobilized over 50 billion VND to help poor students study, support livelihoods and build rural transportation, and create sustainable resources for the people.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Vinh Long province, the results achieved are thanks to the guidance of the Central Government, the coordination of ministries, localities and the support of the business community and overseas Vietnamese in and outside the province.

The Front cadres always uphold the spirit of being exemplary, proactively checking, guiding, and removing difficulties. Many effective models have been replicated, creating widespread emulation momentum.
