Donated land, opened roads
Mr. Ha Van Ngoc (Tay Le Van village, A Sao commune, Hung Yen province) is one of the typical figures of the local patriotic emulation movement. His family voluntarily donated more than 280 square meters of land, demolishing the 54 square meter solid house built in 2022 to widen a road along the river. Previously, his house was located close to the riverbank, and to get to the main road, you had to go around a few hundred meters, causing many inconveniences to the daily life and trade of the whole village.
"I used to follow my parents to build a new economy, the roads were difficult, there was no electricity. Now I have come here for nearly ten years, not giving anything to the commune or village, but mentioning electricity, roads, schools, and stations is the most dreamy and supportive thing for me. Knowing that there is damage, but beautiful for the whole people, beautiful for the whole society. I think about the future so I decided to donate land" - Mr. Ngoc shared.
After his family's decision to donate land, the State has opened a new road, a 7-meter wide roadway, and a total of 9-meter sidewalks on both sides, convenient for 19 households along the river. Not only that, many other households in the area also voluntarily donated land to complete the road. In early 2025, the road will be completed, becoming a common joy for the whole village.
Chairman of the A Sao Commune Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Van Tu commented: Without the joint efforts and consensus of Mr. Ngoc's family, the road would not have the appearance it is today. That dedication is a source of motivation to spread in the community, arousing the spirit of national solidarity".
Mr. Ngoc's story is not unique. In Quynh Phu commune, Ms. Pham Thi Bat (Dong Xa village) also voluntarily donated more than 100m2 of agricultural land to open an inland road, although this land is not her family's field. Ms. Bat recalled the days when agricultural production faced many difficulties, with low fields and narrow roads, and rice crops had to be dried in the fields. Now that the road is wide and the drainage ditches are modern, planting is much more convenient. Ms. Bat expressed: "If there is an epidemic here in 1 year, I will donate and go carefree. Whatever I can do for my children, grandchildren, and society in the future, I can do it on my own initiative.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hung Yen province, in the period of 2020 - 2025, patriotic emulation movements have truly promoted the strength of the community, contributing to improving people's lives, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas and consolidating the great national unity bloc. This is the result of the close leadership of Party committees, close coordination of authorities at all levels, and the direction of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The whole province has more than 1.7 million square meters of residential land, nearly 70 hectares of agricultural land and more than 1 million working days contributed by the people to the rural road construction movement. Farmers' Associations, women's associations, and veterans' associations at all levels have mobilized tens of billions of VND, hundreds of thousands of working days, and millions of square meters of donated land.
These figures not only reflect specific results, but also demonstrate the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in promoting the people's mastery, connecting the people's strength into the strength of building the homeland.

The power of great solidarity from the patriotic emulation movement
Ms. Dang Thi Chien - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province - said that the results achieved in land donation for road construction, contribution of working days and new rural construction fund not only have specific material value but also are the spiritual strength, connecting the will, responsibility and trust of the people.
When everyone is united, seemingly small actions become a symbol of community spirit and social responsibility. It is these actions that have lit up the trust and created motivation for the patriotic emulation movement to spread widely, becoming a sustainable strength for the common development of the province - the leader of the Provincial Fatherland Front shared.
According to Ms. Dang Thi Chien, the patriotic emulation movement does not stop at new roads, cultural houses, schools or infrastructure works but also arouses creativity, the will to rise up and national pride. Good models and typical examples appear in all classes of people, in every residential area, every village, every commune, contributing to the formation of a network of spreading power, connecting all classes of people to join hands to build a better life.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hung Yen province has identified the key task in the coming time as continuing to replicate land donation models for road construction, promoting the effectiveness of the Skilled Mass Mobilization movement and assigning specific responsibilities to each organization and individual in mobilizing the people.
We hope to turn people's efforts into sustainable strength, where each person not only participates but also proactively and creatively contributes to the community. It is the consensus and enthusiasm of the people that will create motivation for Hung Yen to develop comprehensively, both material and material, and humanity and solidarity" - Ms. Chien emphasized.
Through these sharing words, it can be clearly seen that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hung Yen province not only plays the role of a bridge between the Party, the State and the people but also plays a spiritual support, a " core" in gathering, arousing the will and strength of the people so that the patriotic emulation movement can truly come into life, creating positive and sustainable changes for the whole province.
In the coming period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hung Yen province will continue to replicate these models, promote the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" movement and assign specific responsibilities to each organization and individual in the work of mobilizing the people, so that the people's strength will continue to be maximized, creating motivation for Hung Yen to develop sustainably, rich in compassion and solidarity.
