crossing rivers, crossing forests - to people in isolated areas
In early August 2025, many localities in the West of Nghe An were still in difficulty after the circulation of storm No. 3. In Tuong Duong, Luong Minh, Yen Na, Nhon Mai communes..., many villages are still cut off, roads are seriously eroded, hundreds of houses are flooded or washed away. In that situation, on the morning of August 2, 2025, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - directly led the provincial working delegation to the flood center to direct the overcoming of consequences, visit and provide support to the people.
The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province. Due to the road cut off, the group had to move by motorboat, cross the Nam Non River and then walk for kilometers on slippery forest roads with mud up to the knees. Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh recalled: "We want to go to the place, so that people see that in the most difficult times, there are still hands holding them. The road is dangerous but everyone just thinks that it must be as fast as possible to reach the people".
In Lau village, Mac village and Nhu village - the most heavily flooded places, Ms. Sinh and the working group directly visited, shared and provided support to the people. She kindly encouraged households whose houses collapsed, and visited the elderly and children who had just experienced a terrible flood. There are families in mountainous areas, floodwaters are still more than half of their roofs, and people have to temporarily take shelter in damaged schools.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh presented 20 billion VND to support Tuong Duong commune to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also supported local people with an additional 5 billion VND. This is an important resource to help localities repair infrastructure, restore production, and stabilize life after natural disasters. Along with giving gifts and support money, Ms. Sinh requested the authorities to mobilize local forces, coordinate with functional units to urgently repair landslides, clear mud, ensure environmental sanitation and prevent epidemics, absolutely not let people go hungry or have no safe places to live.
Tuong Duong Commune Party Secretary Le Van Luong emotionally said: The presence of provincial leaders and the Front right in the isolated area is a great source of encouragement. The gifts and support sources not only help us overcome the consequences of natural disasters but also add the spirit to help people more confidently overcome difficulties".
During his trips to the flooded areas, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province - still remember the eyes of the people when the working group arrived. He said: "When the boat docked, people rushed out to pick it up. An old man held us by the hand and cried. At that time, I understood that the Front not only brought relief goods, but also brought faith. People just need to see the officials come and feel secure".
Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh shared that what moved her the most was the strong vitality of people in flooded areas. "Some families have lost all their assets, but when receiving support, they still say "as long as there are people, everything is still there". They are very resilient. And it is that spirit that makes us see more clearly our responsibility - to be a bridge between the people's hearts and the State, so that all resources reach the right people, at the right time".
Along with the mobilization, Nghe An Fatherland Front also organized dozens of relief shipments to the most remote villages, delivering thousands of gifts, rice, clean water, warm clothes, and medicine to each household. Those trips, sometimes have to row a boat in the rushing water, sometimes walk for many hours. But for the Front cadres, the most precious thing is the smile and thanks of the people when receiving the gifts.
