On July 31, in Muong Xen commune, a gift-giving ceremony of the Golden Heart Fund was held for people affected by floods.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund, Petrolimex Sugar Plastics Company Limited and local authorities presented 100 gifts to households in difficult circumstances, who suffered heavy losses in the recent floods.
Each gift includes 500,000 VND in cash and a package of necessities (ical oil, fish sauce, seasoning powder). The total value of the gifts sponsored by Petrolimex Sugar Plastics Company Limited is 65 million VND.
In addition, representatives of the Golden Heart Fund also presented 100 more warm blankets, worth a total of 38 million VND. This is a gift given by philanthropists through the Golden Heart Fund to support people in flooded areas of Nghe An. The total value of the gifts is 103 million VND.
Ms. Vi Thi Hien, Binh Son 1 village, Muong Xen commune, choked up when receiving the gift and said that her family was currently facing many difficulties. The recent storm and flood caused great damage to the family's property.
"Today's gift helps my family to worry less about necessities in the coming days, and to reduce difficulties caused by natural disasters," Ms. Hien shared.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Xen commune (Nghe An province) said that the recent flood caused severe damage to infrastructure and people's property. Currently, the government and people are focusing on rebuilding production and stabilizing their lives.
"The lives of local people in flooded areas still face many difficulties. The practical gifts that have come to the people at this time are very precious, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the agencies, businesses, and benefactors who have supported the people. I believe that with the precious affection of the people of the whole country and the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund towards the storm-affected areas, people will be more confident to soon stabilize after natural disasters" - Mr. Hung emphasized.
The recent flood caused severe damage to the mountainous areas of Nghe An. Up to now, according to statistics, there have been 4 deaths, 4 injuries, nearly 7,500 damaged houses, property damage, facilities, and infrastructure of more than 3,546 billion VND.
