Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), on the morning of July 21, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Chau ward (Hung Yen province) directed socio-political organizations in the area to simultaneously launch propaganda, mobilize union members, association members and people to improve their proactive spirit in responding to storms.
The groups have actively visited each residential group, knocking on every door to promptly inform about weather developments, and instructing people to take good measures to ensure the safety of people and property. Key popular contents include: bracing houses, reinforcing corrugated iron roofs, collecting trees and easy-to- fly items; checking electricity and water systems; stocking up on necessary food and necessities and being ready to evacuate when required.
Union members and association members are also mobilized to prepare support plans for people immediately after the storm passes, especially elderly households, single anchors or those in areas at risk of flooding and landslides.
At Ha Chau and An Chau 2 residential groups, the working group directly mobilized and instructed Mr. Dang Van Dan and Mrs. La Thi to deploy storm prevention measures such as covering the barn, fixing furniture, and raising assets.
Propaganda and mobilization work is still being implemented synchronously throughout the ward with a spirit of urgency and determination, to minimize damage caused by the storm and protect the safety of people in all situations.
