Strengthening experience sharing between the Vietnam - Laos Fatherland Fronts

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations always consider preserving and developing Vietnam-Laos relations as a responsibility, a command from their hearts.

On the afternoon of January 27, in Hanoi, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) - came to greet General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.

Also attending the reception was Mr. Le Hoai Trung - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai sent her warmest congratulations on the success of the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. The success of the Congress once again affirmed the solidarity and unity in politics, ideology, organization and leadership methods within the Party; and marked a major development step of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; especially warmly congratulating Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith on continuing to receive absolute trust to hold the position of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. This shows the high trust of the entire Party and people of Laos in Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, beloved by the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kayson Phomvihan and President Souphanouvong, and painstakingly nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, has become an exemplary, faithful, and pure relationship, rare in the history of international relations, and an invaluable common asset of the two nations.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and member organizations always consider preserving and developing the Vietnam-Laos relationship as a responsibility and also an order from their hearts. In that spirit, from January 28 to 30, 2026, the Fatherland Fronts of the two countries will coordinate to organize an international conference on building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and mutually developed Vietnam-Laos border in 2026 in Nghe An province with the participation of the Fatherland Front of 10 Lao provinces and 9 provinces and cities of Vietnam sharing a common border to concretize the Resolution of the Party Congress of each country, especially concretizing the spirit of the Joint Statement of the high-level meeting of the two Parties in December 2025 on deepening the relationship of "Great Friendship, Special Solidarity, Comprehensive Cooperation, Strategic Connectivity" between the two countries.

Providing information on the highlights in the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the past time, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that 2025 is the year of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to carry out the arrangement of organizational structure to ensure streamlining, effective and efficient operation. The arrangement helps the Front better fulfill its role as the core of politics, listening to thoughts and aspirations, and promptly resolving hot spots arising from the grassroots level.

From the content of the 14th Party Congress Resolution, in the coming time, the Front will continue to promote its role to not only be a place to gather and promote the strength of the great national unity spirit but also promote the role of sharp social supervision and criticism, helping the Party and State plan policies closer to reality. With innovative thinking, the Vietnam Fatherland Front wishes to closely coordinate and share experiences with the Lao Fatherland Front in building the country to continue innovating the content and methods of operation so that the activities of the Fatherland Fronts of the two countries become more substantive and go deeper.

Thanking Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai for her best wishes, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his joy and emotion at the warm and respectful welcome from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to the high-level delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed: The Front of the two countries plays an important role for the two Parties, associated with the historical process of the two countries and of great significance in the next period.

From the success of the Party Congresses of the two countries, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith suggested that the two agencies continue to maintain tradition and closely coordinate to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Welcoming and highly appreciating the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Lao Fatherland Front for building the country's cooperation in organizing the International Conference on building a peaceful, friendly, and cooperative Vietnam - Laos border in 2026 in Nghe An province, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith wished that the two agencies would coordinate to organize more meaningful activities; and at the same time promote exchange and sharing experiences so that the Fatherland Front's activities become more substantive, mobilizing people to support and contribute to building the two Parties and the two countries to develop more and more.
