On the afternoon of March 19, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central mass organizations organized the Launching Ceremony of the "Second Political Essay Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, 2026 of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central mass organizations" (the Contest) with the theme "Promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new era of development" and coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to organize a press conference in the first quarter of 2026.
At the Launching Ceremony of the Contest, Comrade Tran Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Unions, Head of Steering Committee 35 of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Unions officially launched the Party Committee-level Contest, emphasizing that 2026 will be a year of many important events, creating a premise for the beginning of an era of development, a new era of the Vietnamese nation, especially for the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to successfully organize the National Congress of Delegates for the term 2026 - 2031.
Therefore, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central mass organizations determine that the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and participating in protecting the political system must be paid more attention to and promoted by each directly affiliated Party organization, especially for Party committees and heads.
Thereby, continuing to consolidate and promote the strength of "Great Unity" in the current context; so that the Fatherland Front and member organizations are truly a bridge between the Party, the State and the People; striving to gather and unite all classes of people, further promoting the right to mastery, the right to exercise supervision and social criticism.
Comrade Tran Thang requested directly affiliated party organizations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system, socio-political organizations, mass organizations assigned tasks by the Party and State, and press agencies to actively respond and participate in the Contest, publish the Plan, Regulations and Appendices orienting the theme of the Party Committee-level Contest, study and organize the Contest at their level and unit in a creative, practical, and effective direction, suitable to the functions, tasks, and subjects of the units; thereby, promote the role of the system of socio-political organizations, mass organizations assigned tasks by the Party and State, especially towards grassroots levels.
For affiliated press agencies, it is proposed that units open columns to receive political essay entries on protecting the Party's ideological foundation from all participants in the Contest nationwide.

At the conference, Comrade Tran Thang acknowledged that press agencies and affiliated magazines have closely followed the leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations and the orientation of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; press activities have been deployed methodically, synchronously, with focus and key points; ensuring the correct principles and purposes, maintaining political and ideological orientations...
In particular, the propaganda work for major political events such as the 14th Party Congress, the implementation of the 14th Party Congress Resolution and the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, People's Council deputies at all levels, Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026... was carried out synchronously and methodically, creating a widespread spreading effect, contributing to consolidating people's trust and maintaining social ideological stability.
Regarding directions and tasks in the second quarter of 2026, Comrade Tran Thang noted that it is necessary to focus on propagating the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026 – 2031, identifying this as a key task throughout the second quarter of 2026.
At the same time, promote propaganda at the Congresses of socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned tasks by the Party and State for the 2026–2031 term; continue to propagate and implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress associated with socio-economic development tasks; proactively spread strongly positive information, strengthen the fight against wrong and hostile views.
