Integration skills are still limited
On the afternoon of June 24, at the Forum "Vietnamese Youth ready for international integration" within the framework of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026 - 2031, Major Nguyen Duy Hung - Head of the Youth Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Police shared some issues on international integration for union members and youth.

According to Major Nguyen Duy Hung, in the context of increasingly deep international integration, foreign affairs and international cooperation among youth have become an important content in the action program of the Youth Union organization in general and the youth of the People's Police in particular.
At Hung Yen Provincial Police, the Provincial Police Youth Union has proactively organized many practical activities for union members and youth such as: International integration training, foreign language playgrounds, international exchange programs and youth foreign affairs; establishing foreign language clubs, skills and digital transformation; and encouraging union members and youth to participate in specialized cases to fight against foreign crimes...
However, besides the positive results, there are still many limitations and challenges such as: Integration thinking is still a foreign concept to a part of young people; foreign language barriers make many young people hesitant; opportunities to access international exchange, training and work programs in localities are still limited; a part of Youth Union officials are still limited in integration skills, leading to difficulties in leading and inspiring young people.

To improve the international integration capacity of youth, the Head of the Youth Committee of Hung Yen Provincial Police said that it is necessary to act synchronously on three pillars: Individual - organization - society, by focusing on solving three major groups of problems.
First, each union member and youth needs to train themselves with a "integration tool kit" to confidently step out into the world.
Young people must be ready to learn and improve their knowledge, especially foreign languages; proactively share and dare to step out of the safe zone.
Currently, learning foreign languages has become easy thanks to free applications, software and projects. Just having a clear goal, union members and youth will easily find support" - Major Nguyen Duy Hung said.
At the same time, union members and youth must practice office informatics skills and proficiently use three key tools: Search engines, artificial intelligence (AI) and social networks. When combining these three factors, we will create the "trump card" of the new era.
Second, regarding organization (Central Youth Union and levels), the Central Youth Union needs to study building a capacity framework for Vietnamese youth in the context of international integration as a basis for designing programs and activities to develop skills.
The competency framework should include groups: Professional competence, social competence, digital competence, global competence, adaptive competence and lifelong learning.
Specifically, strengthen international exchange and cooperation programs in the fields of politics, economy, culture, society, education...; expand training and fostering programs to improve capacity abroad for youth.
Develop strategic solutions to promote human resources in the locality; have mechanisms to attract talents, and minimize the "brain drain" situation.
Increase budget investment for youth work, especially in the field of international integration.
Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to implement free and accessible foreign language and digital skills courses. At the same time, connect and cooperate with startup centers and international venture capital funds to support youth startups.
Bringing soft skills competitions to disadvantaged areas
Speaking at the Forum, delegate Do Gia Han (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dak Mai Secondary and High School, Bu Gia Map commune, Dong Nai province) said that in the new era of the nation, the young generation is dedicating all their efforts, accelerating every day to catch up with the trends of the times and contribute to the development of the country.
As a student in a remote area, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dak Mai Secondary and High School realized a thought-provoking reality: Youth union members in difficult areas today still do not have a comprehensive access to digital transformation skills, and lack space to express and develop their inherent abilities.

To keep no one behind, delegate Do Gia Han proposed a number of key solutions, including promoting information and propaganda work: Bringing soft skills competitions and playgrounds closer to students in remote and isolated areas in the most timely and visual way.
At the same time, build a comprehensive support ecosystem: Invest in organizing skills classes, periodic playgrounds suitable to local characteristics. Through this, listen, cherish and nurture all legitimate aspirations of each union member and youth.
