This is an activity of profound political, social and humanitarian significance, with a total implementation cost of more than 30 billion VND (starting from 2023), to support people to go offshore to stick to the sea, contributing to removing the IUU "yellow card" and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
In Hue City, the Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to outstanding fishermen in difficult circumstances, each worth more than 4 million VND, including: battery pack, LED light, combo battery, medicine bag, handbook of things to know about catching seafood... At the same time, 20 scholarships (each worth 3 million VND) were also given to the children of fishermen who overcame difficulties to study well, to give them more motivation to go to school.
Previously, the program was held in 22 provinces and cities such as Phu Yen, Quang Tri, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Khanh Hoa, Ca Mau, Nghe An... with many practical activities such as legal seminars, seminars to remove yellow cards, "Answer fishermen", dialogue on IUU law, marine environmental protection and sustainable marine economic development.
More than 3,800 gifts and 600 scholarships were awarded, along with a series of medical examination and treatment programs, giving Tet gifts to lonely elderly people, children, and fishermen in difficult circumstances.
The highlight of the program in 2025 in Hue is to promote support for fishermen to develop a sustainable marine economy according to the Government's Project for the development of marine aquaculture to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Through specific activities, the Organizing Committee hopes to not only provide material support but also spread patriotism, awareness of law compliance, protection of marine resources and ecological environment.
