At about 5:00 p.m. on July 26, while performing patrol, inspection and control duties; preventing and combating IUU fishing in the Southwest sea, CSB Ship 4035 of Squadron 422, Squadron 42, Coast Guard Region 4 Command received information requesting urgent medical assistance.
According to the announcement of the captain of fishing boat KG 901xx TS, crew member Tran Van Kien, born in 1989, located in Dong Hung commune, An Giang province, had a work accident while casting a scraper net at sea and needed urgent medical support.
Immediately after receiving the information, CSB Ship 4035 quickly approached the fishing boat, took the victim to CSB Ship 4035, and provided initial first aid to the victim.
Through the verification of the Military Medical Team: The victim had a ring finger crushed, lost 2 stitches, suffered a lot of burning blood, and could not hold it. The medical team stopped the bleeding, ban date, gave painkillers and antibiotics. After receiving medical support, the victim was conscious, the wound was temporarily stable, and there was no more bleeding. At 8:00 p.m. the same day, the crew member in distress was supported by officers and soldiers of CSB 4035 to go to fishing boat KG 901xx TS to organize the takeover to shore for further treatment.
The quick, accurate and effective support demonstrates the high sense of responsibility of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard in general and the Coast Guard Region 4 Command in particular in the process of accompanying and helping fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea.
