According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, "Proud of Vietnamese Farmers" is a major and annual program of the Vietnam Farmers' Union over the past 12 years. In 2025, the program took place in the atmosphere of the country's historic days when the whole country had just celebrated the success of major holidays. For the Vietnamese farming class, this is an occasion for cadres and farmers' associations nationwide to be happy, excited, and strive to compete to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025).
This is also the 13th year the Program has been held to honor and award titles to the most outstanding Vietnamese farmers in fields and farms, in the emulation movement to build new rural areas and protect national security. The presence of 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers and 32 farmer scientists in 2025, symbolizing the 95-year journey of the Vietnam Farmers' Association accompanying the development of the country, under the glorious flag of the Party.
According to the Organizing Committee, the excellent Vietnamese Farmers in 2025 were voted based on 4 main groups of criteria: Production, business, agricultural services; farmers with outstanding achievements in the new rural construction movement; farmers with outstanding achievements in the movement of the whole people to protect national security and sovereignty; have scientific initiatives and inventions that have been applied and brought high economic and social efficiency...
Of these, there are 54 male farmers and 9 female farmers; including 4 excellent farmers representing ethnic minorities. By groups, in terms of production, business, and agricultural services: 31 farmers; achievements in the movement to build new rural areas and protect national security: 27 farmers; initiatives and inventions in agricultural production: 5 farmers.
For the 32 scientists of the farms in 2025, there are 27 male scientists and 5 female scientists. The youngest farmer's scientist: 35 years old (born in 1990) is Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, Tay ethnic group from the Center for Science and Technology (Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province); the oldest scientist: 87 years old (born in 1938) is Professor, Dr. Mai Van Quyen - Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company. Most of the scientists in the family have university degrees or higher, of which 11 are studying for the title of Doctor; 6 are studying for the title of Professor and Associate Professor.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the decision to award the title to both excellent farmers and scientists of farmers is of profound significance, demonstrating the close, defensive, and mutually supportive connection between the "two houses" (scientific houses and farmers).
In particular, honoring the title of "Scientific House of Farmers" this year is of great significance in the context of the Politburo's recent issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. The contributions of scientists are a decisive factor in creating breakthroughs in the fields of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, said: In 2025, outstanding Vietnamese farmers in 2025 are bright examples, typical advanced examples with impressive achievements in production and business; in the movement to build new rural areas, the movement of the whole people participating in protecting national security.
With 32 Farmers' Scientists in 2025, voted through many nomination rounds and many different introduction channels, being the most outstanding scientists in the fields; having made important contributions to scientific research, creating new plant and animal varieties; researching and improving processes, bringing scientific - technical advances, modern technology into production; working with farmers to be diligent, creative, patient, and hard-working to create the golden harvest season.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong affirmed that throughout the history of the Vietnamese people, our country's farmers have played a very important role and made great contributions to the process of exploiting land, opening up borders, establishing the country, building and defending the Fatherland.
Throughout the 95 years of building, developing, and growing, under the leadership and direction of beloved Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Red Farmers' Association has continuously grown, becoming a large socio-political organization, representing the will, aspirations, and legitimate rights of the farming class.
The Association has made many great contributions to the struggles for national independence, national reunification, and national defense in the new era. The Vietnam Farmers' Association has actively accompanied the country, organizations, social forces and farmers to promote emulation in production labor, socio-economic development, new rural construction, preservation and promotion of national cultural identity, political security, social order and safety, improving material and spiritual life, and promoting the role of the subject of Vietnamese farmers.
In the context of facing many challenges such as climate change, natural disasters and epidemics, and unpredictable impacts of the global market, in recent years, the Vietnamese agricultural sector has steadfastly risen, achieving extremely impressive achievements. Agriculture has always been a pillar, a solid foundation for stability and development, contributing to curbing inflation, stabilizing the macro economy, promoting growth, and ensuring national food security. Vietnam has not only become a global bright spot in hunger eradication and poverty reduction but has also become a leading agricultural exporting country in the world. This achievement is contributed by the continuous contributions and creative efforts of millions of farming households and the effective support of intellectuals and scientists.
63 outstanding farmers representing more than 3.6 million good farmers and businesses nationwide and 32 scientists of the farmer are today honored as truly outstanding representatives of their tireless work results, strongly inspiring the aspiration and motivation to contribute to the country and the community of the Vietnamese people on the path to building a prosperous, civilized and happy country, President Luong Cuong emphasized.
