On July 26, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City had a working session with leaders of departments, branches, socio-political organizations, and press agencies in the city to assess the situation, deploy support and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Wipha).
At the meeting, leaders of departments and branches in Ho Chi Minh City provided more information on preparation work and development of support plans for provinces affected by natural disasters. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has prepared a plan for equipment, medicine and human resources to be able to immediately participate in medical examination and treatment, disease prevention for people in Nghe An province according to the proposal of the provincial Department of Health.
The City Armed Forces have also coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces to grasp the damage data of local people and military families to have a specific support plan, in the immediate future supporting the needs of the people and military families affected with about 600 gifts, worth about 400 million VND. In the next phase, prepare materials and human resources to support people to repair houses damaged by the storm...
For the city's socio-political organizations, the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society has prepared timely support plans for the people.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City always determines the spirit of "for the whole country, with the whole country", ready to share and support localities facing difficulties due to natural disasters.
In the immediate future, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will advise the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to approve the support policy for Nghe An and Dong Thap provinces. Of which, Nghe An province will be supported with 3 billion VND and Dong Thap province 1 billion VND, drawn from the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Fund, through the Front system in the two provinces.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc suggested that armed forces, socio-political organizations and functional agencies of the city urgently contact affected localities to closely grasp the situation, determine actual needs and proactively develop appropriate relief plans. In particular, specialized fields such as electricity, water, rescue - relief... will be chaired by functional units, under the coordination of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to ensure concentration, synchronization, and avoid spreading resources.
The health sector needs to prepare human resources, vehicles, equipment and medicine to be ready to provide support, similar to how Ho Chi Minh City was supported by localities during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical units need to develop a mobilization plan according to the "head-on" model, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted medical support work. At the same time, coordinate to carefully survey the epidemic situation in flooded areas for a long time to prevent epidemics.
