Ho Chi Minh City - On February 22, a memorial service for compatriots, officials, and soldiers who sacrificed in the COVID-19 pandemic was held at Park No. 1 Ly Thai To.

Delegates, Buddhists and people burned incense to commemorate compatriots, cadres, and soldiers who sacrificed and died in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - shared that in the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to coordinate with religious organizations to organize memorial activities and requiems for compatriots, cadres, and soldiers who sacrificed and died due to the COVID-19 pandemic at Park No. 1 Ly Thai To.

Park No. 1 Ly Thai To officially opened on February 12, 2026, after more than 3 months of urgent construction. This is a humane green space to commemorate COVID-19 victims and serve the community.

The center of the park is Drop Square, 1,800 m2. The Drop Monument is 6m high, 13m in circumference, made of stainless steel mirrors placed in the center, reflecting the image of each person standing around.
