On February 9, Tra On Commune People's Committee organized a program to give gifts to policy families in difficult circumstances in the area. The program was attended by commune leaders and representatives of departments, branches, and local unions. The total value of gifts was 105 million VND, supported by philanthropists.
At the program, Mr. Nguyen Chi Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Tra On Commune People's Committee - and philanthropists directly presented 350 gifts to policy families in difficult circumstances, each worth 300,000 VND.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Chairman of Tra On Commune People's Committee Nguyen Chi Hieu affirmed that caring for Tet for policy families and poor households is always concerned by the locality, and thanked philanthropists for their companionship.
Representing the household receiving the gift, Mr. Nguyen Be Tam, a martyr worshiper in Tich Khanh hamlet, said that his family still faces many difficulties, so the timely care and support of the locality is very practical.
These gifts help my family reduce worries before Tet. I am very grateful to the local authorities and philanthropists for their concern and sharing so that we have more conditions to celebrate a warm Tet," Mr. Tam shared.
This year, thanks to the joint efforts of philanthropists, 100% of policy families, poor and near-poor households in the commune received gifts, contributing to making every home welcome a warm traditional Tet.
