On November 8, Lam Thanh commune (Nghe An province) solemnly held a ceremony to posthumously award the State title of "Heroic Vietnamese Mothers" to Mother Nguyen Thi Duong, who has made many contributions and sacrifices to the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
Nguyen Thi Duong's mother was born in 1906, died in 1987; her husband was Mr. Pham Khac Vien (born in 1905). The mother has 7 children, of which 4 participated in the resistance war, 2 of whom heroically sacrificed: Martyr Pham Dinh Chinh (born in 12, sacrificed in 1973 in Cam Lo, Quang Tri) and Martyr Pham Dinh Khai (born in 1948, sacrificed in 1972 at the Dak To - Tan Canh front, whose graves have not been found).
The sacrifice of the men is a great loss to their family and hometown Lam Thanh, and at the same time demonstrates the patriotism and steadfastness of the previous generation. Overcoming the pain, Mother Nguyen Thi Duong still works steadfastly, is a strong supporter, raises her children and grandchildren to adulthood, continuing the family's revolutionary tradition.
The title "Heroic Vietnamese Mother" posthumously awarded today is a deep gratitude of the Party, State and people for the dedication and silent sacrifice of Mother Nguyen Thi Duong and the heroic martyrs in the cause of national liberation.
