On the morning of September 22, at the first working session of the National Party Congress of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations held the first Congress of Delegates for the 2025 - 2030 term, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Vice President of the Journalists Association, presented a speech with the theme "Building a strong Party organization in a press agency, protecting the Party's ideological foundation in revolutionary journalism".
Comprehensive leadership in ideology and organization
According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, the Party organization in the press agency must be the core of political orientation, ensuring that all information content is reflected honestly, promptly, and in accordance with the Party's guidelines and purposes. This means that we must resolutely fight to prevent misconceptions and distorted information, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, which is Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. The press must be a pioneer force on the ideological front, constantly strengthening the people's belief in the path to socialism that our Party has chosen.
In addition to ideological orientation, the leadership role of the Party organization is also strongly demonstrated in organizational work. The Party organization is responsible for comprehensively leading the work of cadres, from planning, training to fostering the leadership and journalism team, developing the Party among the team of journalists. It is necessary to ensure that each journalist not only has strong political will and pure ethics, but also has analytical skills, extensive knowledge and methods of scientific journalism. Because a journalist cannot effectively protect the Party's ideological foundation or connect with the people if he lacks professional capacity to produce attractive, genuine content and attract audiences.
At the same time, Party organizations must regularly conduct inspections and supervision to ensure that all press activities strictly comply with the Party's principles, guidelines, purposes and legal framework, and promptly handle violations.
Journalism is a bridge between the Party, the State and the people
Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association assessed that the Party organization in press agencies plays an important role in effectively carrying out the task of "connecting the Party, State and people".
On the one hand, the press is an important channel to convey the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State to the masses. We must ensure that information is conveyed in a simple, easy-to-understand, popular, practical and vivid way, so that all Party directives and resolutions are not only issued but also understood and accepted by the masses, as Uncle Ho once taught: The press must " say to the people to understand, write to the people to believe".
On the other hand, the press is also an important forum to reflect the thoughts, aspirations, and voices of the people to the Party and the State. The Party organization must ensure that this function is effectively performed, so that the press becomes a channel to listen to the opinions of organizations, businesses and people from all walks of life. Each article needs to closely follow life and practice, reflect honestly and objectively, put the interests of the country and the people above, not painting or distorting, Uncle Ho also once advised journalists: "If you don't investigate, if you don't know clearly, don't say, don't write". Reflecting the legitimate aspirations of the people helps the Party and State grasp the thoughts and promptly adjust policies to suit real life.
Through effectively communicating policies and promptly reflecting public opinion and press, under the direction of Party organizations, it contributes significantly to creating social consensus, consolidating the great national unity bloc and building people's trust in the Party and the State. Especially in the digital age, the press also has the task of proactively orienting public opinion on digital platforms, fighting fake news and false information, contributing to maintaining social stability.
Mr. Tran Trong Dung said that, besides great achievements, Vietnamese revolutionary press is still facing many challenges. These are the explosion of information on social networks, the problem of fake news, and the abuse of unverified "civil media". That is the pressure of financial autonomy that can lead to the risk of commercialization and deviation of regulations. And it cannot be denied that there are still internal weaknesses and there is no focus on concentrating the necessary resources in leadership and training of cadres and party members in some places.
Spreading beautiful stories and examples
According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, to overcome the above challenges, it is necessary to further enhance the role of the Party organization in the press in the new era of the nation. Therefore, it is necessary to synchronously deploy many solutions:
First, continue to strengthen the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, contributing to perfecting the legal framework in the context that press agencies are implementing a new press model when streamlining the apparatus, improving effectiveness and efficiency, in which special attention is paid to doing a good job of ideological work, strengthening solidarity and unity, first of all within the Party committees, Party committees, and grassroots Party cells, as the core to build solidarity and unity throughout the agency and unit, creating an important foundation to excellently carry out assigned political tasks.
Second, in the digital age, the decisive issue is the quality of human resources. Therefore, press agencies and Associations at all levels need to pay special attention to mobilizing all resources (on-site resources, state resources and socialized resources), investing appropriately and effectively in training and fostering to improve political capacity, professional ethics and professional skills for the press team.
Third, focus on investing in technology and digital transformation, building a "convergence program", applying artificial intelligence and big data to improve quality, efficiency and innovate press activities.
Journalism - broadcasting works must attach importance to "solution journalism", "Building" along with "Chong", applying modern journalism methods, prioritizing positive information as the mainstream, implementing "actively pushing back negativity" "taking the beauty to eliminate the bad", promoting the achievements and advantages of the socialist regime, spreading stories, beautiful examples, humanity, for the community in all social classes, especially for the young.
In the new era of the nation, with the strong development of digital technology and the 4.0 industrial revolution, the role of the Party organization in the press agency is not only to maintain but also to be a comprehensive leadership core for future development. The leadership of the Party, demonstrated through strong and adaptive Party organizations, will be a key factor for the Vietnamese press to continue to be a strong force, proactively and actively carrying out the glorious mission of "Propaganda for the Fatherland, serving the People" in a rapidly changing world.
