The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 7 (50 - 61 km/h), gusting to level 9. The tropical depression is moving westward at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move westward at a speed of 20 - 25 km/h, likely to strengthen into a storm. At 1:00 p.m. on October 18, the center of the storm was at about 13.4 degrees north latitude; 124.8 degrees east longitude, in the sea east of the central Philippines. Strong wind level 8, gust level 10.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm will move west-northwest, traveling 20 - 25 km per hour and continuing to strengthen. At 1:00 p.m. on October 19, the center of the storm was at about 15.6 degrees north latitude; 120.6 degrees east longitude, on Luzon Island (Philippines). Strong wind level 8, gust level 10.
The danger zone is the area north of the latitude of 14.5 degrees north to 18.5 degrees north; east of the longitude of 118.5 degrees east. The natural disaster risk level is level 3 for the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea.
It is forecasted that in the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move mainly in the west-northwest direction, traveling 20 - 25 km per hour, entering the East Sea and likely to strengthen.
Regarding the impact of the tropical depression that is likely to become a storm, from October 19, the sea area east of the northern East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6 - 7, the area near the storm center will have strong winds of level 8, gusting to level 10. Waves are 2.5 - 4.5 m high, rough seas.
From October 20 to 22, the northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 9 - 11, gusting to level 14. Ship operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
