By 7:00 PM on August 25, the storm's center will be located at about 20.7 degrees North latitude - 109.3 degrees East longitude; in the area east of the Gulf of Tonkin, about 190km northeast of Bach Long Vi special zone. Wind intensity is strong at level 9, gusting at level 11.
Forecast for the next 72 hours, the storm will move in a North-Northeast direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h, gradually weakening into a tropical depression,
By 7:00 PM on August 26th, the center of the tropical depression will be located at approximately 22.2 degrees North latitude - 109.9 degrees East longitude; on land in the southwest of Guangdong province (China). Wind intensity is strong at level 6-7, gusting at level 9.
From 72 to 96 hours later, the tropical depression is likely to move in a Northwest direction, moving 5-10km per hour and gradually weakening into a low pressure area on land in the southern province of Guangxi (China).
Regarding the impact of the storm at sea, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including special zones: Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai; Hon Dau island), the coastal sea area of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces has strong winds at level 6-7, the area near the storm center passing through strong at level 8-9, gusts at level 10-11; sea waves are 3-5m high; very rough seas.
The coastal mainland of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8. Strong winds can blow off roofs, damage temporary structures, break down green trees, billboards; affecting electricity and traffic systems.
Regarding heavy rain, the Northeast region, the south of Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An provinces from the night of August 23 to the end of August 24 will have common rainfall of 30-60mm, locally over 150mm; especially Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An commonly 50-110mm, locally over 250mm.
