Storm No. 4 weakens into a tropical depression in the Gulf of Tonkin, forecast path

This afternoon (August 25), storm No. 4 has weakened into a tropical depression.

Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 16:00 on August 25, the center of the tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 4) was located at about 19.4 degrees North latitude - 108.4 degrees East longitude, over the Southern Gulf of Tonkin area. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting at level 9. The tropical depression is moving in the East direction at a speed of about 10 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move in a Northeast direction, at a speed of about 10 km/h and gradually weaken into a low pressure area.

By 4:00 PM on August 26th, the center of the low pressure area will be located at approximately 21.7 degrees North latitude - 110.3 degrees East longitude; on land north of the Leizhou peninsula (China). Wind intensity will decrease to below level 6.

The dangerous area is located about 18.5 degrees North latitude to the North; 107.5 degrees East longitude to the East. The disaster risk level is level 3 for the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi special zone).

Regarding the impact of the tropical depression at sea, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi special zone) has strong winds of level 5, the area near the center of the tropical depression passing through is strong at level 6-7, gusting at level 9, waves 2-4m high; strong sea waves.

Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and large waves.
