Specifically, the incident was a double shell explosion in the refined area during production.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces of Lao Cai province coordinated with relevant agencies to quickly approach the scene for inspection. Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also issued directing documents and urgently deployed activities to overcome the incident, as well as ensure environmental safety for production and surrounding areas.
The Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Environment has also chaired and coordinated with the Management Board and local authorities to inspect and assess the current situation, and work with the company to guide handling after the environmental incident occurred. The Department's Environmental Monitoring Technical Center has also taken air samples around the incident area.
According to the Department's report, monitoring results show that most of the air quality indicators are currently within the permitted standards, only some overall dust parameters exceed the threshold. Up to now, according to the report of the Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Environment, post-incident handling work has basically been completed. The area where the incident occurred no longer has the phenomenon of spreading as before. The enterprise has also continued to implement environmental sanitation activities and inspect and assess the consequences after the incident," Ms. Nguyen Thi Thien Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Environment informed.
Ms. Phuong added that in the coming time, the environmental agency will continue to coordinate with localities to monitor, monitor promptly, grasp the situation and put the facility into the next inspection plan.
Previously, at about 12:22 pm on February 23, an explosion occurred in the production area of the factory belonging to the gold phosphorus production complex of Vietnam Gold Phosphorus Co., Ltd., located in Tang Loong Industrial Park. The incident killed 1 person, part of the factory's corrugated iron roof collapsed, and some equipment was damaged.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces were present at the scene to handle, ensure security and order and investigate the cause.
