The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa and ministries and sectors on responding to the tropical depression in the East Sea.
The telegram clearly stated that on the evening of June 3, 2026, the low pressure area in the southern sea area of the northern East Sea strengthened into a tropical depression (TD). At 10 pm on June 3, 2026, the center of the TD was at 16.9 degrees north latitude, 115.2 degrees east longitude, the strongest wind was level 6, gusting to level 8, moving in the northeast direction at a speed of about 15km/h.
Forecast for the next 24 hours, the TD will move in a northeast direction at a speed of about 20km/h, wind force level 6, gusts level 8.
To proactively respond to tropical depressions, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense proposes that the People's Committees of provinces and cities and ministries and sectors:
Closely monitor the diễn biến of the TD; strictly manage vehicles going out to sea; organize counting, notify owners of vehicles, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and diễn biến of the TD to proactively prevent, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: from latitude 16.0 - 22.0 degrees north latitude; from longitude 114.0 - 119.5 degrees east longitude (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).
Be ready with forces and vehicles to deploy rescue and relief work when situations arise.
Mass media agencies strengthen information about the developments of the TD to all levels of government, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to know and proactively respond.
Ministries and sectors, according to their functions and state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities to respond to tropical depressions.
Be on duty seriously, regularly report to the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
14 provinces and cities receiving the telegram include: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa.
