On May 29, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen signed a document directing the handling of the situation of accumulated waste and environmental pollution in the area of Bao Lam communes and Loc Phu landfill (now Bao Lam 4 commune).

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 and related units to review and advise on plans to organize the implementation of the task of collecting, transporting, and treating domestic solid waste in the transitional and long-term period.
The Department of Finance is assigned to research and advise on mechanisms to ensure funding for the collection, transportation, and treatment of domestic waste; including considering funding for treating accumulated waste and maintaining operations in the transitional period, and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee before June 5, 2026.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 to direct the Bao Lam area construction investment project management board to review and propose specific plans on personnel, assets, machinery, vehicles and funding sources to serve the management and operation of the landfill.

At the same time, this unit must ensure that the collection, transportation, and treatment of domestic solid waste activities take place regularly and continuously, without interruption.
While there is no official plan, the Bao Lam Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board continues to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes to maintain the reception and treatment of waste; implement measures to treat accumulated waste, control odors, and leachate to minimize the risk of environmental pollution.

Localities including Bao Lam 1, Bao Lam 2, Bao Lam 3, Bao Lam 4 and Bao Lam 5 are required to proactively develop plans for collecting, transporting, and treating domestic waste in the area.
Localities coordinate to handle the amount of accumulated waste and strengthen inspection and supervision of collection and transportation activities to avoid prolonged waste congestion.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to continue to monitor and summarize difficulties and obstacles arising in the process of managing and operating Loc Phu landfill to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and direct handling.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected the situation of overloaded centralized landfills in Bao Lam 4 commune, for many consecutive months garbage was not buried in time but dumped indiscriminately outside the prescribed area.
This situation causes the road to the landfill to be filled with garbage, emitting a foul odor, seriously affecting the lives of people in the surrounding area.
Waste is still accumulated in many localities of the old Bao Lam district, especially in Bao Lam 1 commune, causing environmental pollution and unsightliness.
Regarding the incident, Lam Dong Provincial Police are coordinating with relevant units to cordon off the scene, statistically count the amount of accumulated waste and collect documents to serve the investigation and verification work.
Functional agencies also assess the level of environmental impact and clarify the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals if violations are detected.
